Chalet with stunning lake view. Peaceful forest setting 400m from the lake. Outdoor furniture, barbecue, play grounds for children, a very popular jumping pillow and a tennis court (free of charge). We have rowing boats, canoes and fishing nets for hire. Internet access is free of charge available on site. The site is a starting point for 80 Km of marked roads and paths suitable for Nordic walking and nature trails. Weekly Elk (Moose) safaris in the summer are a popular family event. Here you will learn about Wild Life Management and the ecology of the elks. In the winter the skiing season starts at Christmas and lasts to the beginning of April. The distance to the Alpine Centre of Vradal is 7 Km. The chalets are connected to 40 Kms of slopes, prepared for Nordic skiing and Snow Shoeing. Ideal for exploring South Norway by day trips to Oslo, Hardanger Fiord, Rjukan (Heroes of Telemark) the South Coast and Bø Sommarland (Water Park).

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in Norwegian Krone. For other periods of stay you get individual offer. We offer 5% discount for over 2 weeks and 10% discount for over 3 weeks. Electricity and fire wood are included. Final cleaning is not included, it costs NOK 800.
Changeover day
Normally changeover day is Saturday, but we are very flexible. In the high season arrival time is after 15.00 and departure time is 11.00.

Outside
Our guests find lake Nisser an eldorado for fishing with flies, spinners and nets. The best fishing season use to be from the beginning of June and to the end of September. In the first part of September the big trouts use to come from the deep sea!
The surrounding islands are very popular for picnicking, bathing, fishing and in the autumn you can pick lots of blueberries and small rasberries. Rent of out board motor has to be booked in advance.
Our guests enjoy the unpolluted freshwater. In the winter you very often have the opportunity of skating, skiing or snowshoeing on the thick ice.
Skiing
The Vrådal ski resort boasts 30km of groomed slopes offering extensive skiing for all abilities. The Vrådal Skicentre located 7 km from the chalet is famous for the first 8-seater chairlift in the world. The Skicentre guarantee you no wait longer than 5 minutes! In addition Vrådal Skicentre runs 4 other lifts and prepares 15 pistes. The longest piste is 3 600 m and has a vertical drop of 473 m. Tthe snow production system makes it possible to open the ski centre in the middle of Desember and keep it in good condition until the middle of April.
Snowboard at Vrådal Skisenter : The slopes are designed for all levels of expertise -both beginners and advanced alpine/Telemark skiers and snow boarders. Good possibilities for off-piste skiing. The Vrådal Skicentre offers ski rental and ski tuition. Children under 6 years can use the lifts free of charge.
Toboggan slopes from the chalets. Modern snowshoes are rented out at the chalet. You get half a day free of charge.
Special interest holidays
In summer the Vrådal offers a wide variety of mountain climbing and hiking opportunities. Free access to the tennis court. Exciting moose safari is free of charge for our guests. Special trails are developed for Nordic Walking. Bø Summer Land 65 km away is the largest water theme park of Norway.
Travel
The nearest airports are Torp (Sandefjord) and Kjevik (Kristiansand) which are approx 2.5 hours drive. From Oslo it takes 3 hours to drive.

In the villiage Vrådal with 500 inhabitans, you'll find a supermarket with the post office, several souvenir shops, a cafeand sporting stores.
The Quality Straand Hotel, 2,5 km from Vrådal Hyttegrend, has a restaurant, a bar, Night Club and an open air restaurant down by Lake Nisser named Straand Summerland. Here you can use 2 beach- volleyball arenas, beach, large playing area with trampolines, swings, seesaws, climbing houses, slides, obstacle race and a soccer field. In the high season there is live music 6 days a week.
Close by, Straand Horse Centre offers: horseback riding in the forest, riding lessons, pony-riding, and trips with horse and wagon.
