Guest comments
We have been delighted with The Joffers' House. It is a beautiful house which has a serene and relaxing ambiance, set in a lovely village which has been very welcoming. We have enjoyed our time in the area visiting Arnhem, Nijmegen, Maastricht and lots of local towns. One of the highlights of the week has been visiting 'De Hoge Veluwe' and taking the free bikes around the cycle tracks. What an amazing scenery! Sorry to have to leave!

This is a wonderful house and the host, Mieke is lovely. Inside it is welcoming and friendly, there is everything you could want in terms of furnishings and equipment. We went to Bobbyjaanland and Phantasialand- all within 90 minutes travel. Horst and Venray are nice towns with good shopping. Kasteeltuinen Arcen is lovely and relaxing. We also went to Duisberg Zoo- a fantastic find. We stayed with our children and we all loved it. The Joffers' House and its surroundings; a truly unique find!

About the owner
I am from The Netherlands and moved to London, England, where I live with my husband and stepchildren. I love London where both my husband and I work, but also look forward to spending our holidays on the continent; especially in the area where I come from! Of course to visit my large family, but also because I enjoy this most beautiful and friendly part of Holland which is so centrally located in The Netherlands, but also because it is so accessibly for venturing into nearby Germany and Belgium. I love experiencing the different cultures- all within a stone's throw away from The Joffers' House! Both my husband and I wish you a wonderful and inspiring stay in this most versatile area, but also in delightful Joffers' House; your fantastic base from which to explore, but also to return to.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We love this area! Limburg is Netherlands' most Southern and versatile Province- it is centrally located and offers a fantastic combination of spectacular nature (wonderful walking- and cycling routes), and plenty interesting day-outings: touristic, cultural and historical ones, such as the local festivals (Rose-Asparagus-Bike and Music Festivals), the atmospheric outdoor markets, and many interesting museums (WWII museum in Overloon). The Roman cities of Nijmegen and Maastricht are just 60 min's drive away from the Joffers' House, and the nearby German and Belgium borders offer day-outings to the vibrant cities such as Dusseldorf, Kevelaer (cakes!) and Aachen, and in Belgium the historical towns like Liege, Maaseik and Ghent. And..the Limburgers are known for their Bourgundian lifestyle.
Unique benefits of the property
The Joffers is situated in the heart of the Dutch Rose-and Asparagus Culture. In the summer you'll find endless fields filled with colorful roses; a must to see! Picturesque villages with medieval castles and monasteries lay dotted along the beautiful river, Maas. Fantastic boat-trips to be made, lakes for water sports, but also 3 golf courses, horse riding, beautiful walking-and cycling routes, Thermal bath and Beauty Center, local festivals and weekly markets, museums, historical towns and vibrant cities. Wonderful restaurants nearby: formal (Michelin*) and plenty informal ones (with or without outdoor terraces); many along the river Maas where you can watch the boats go by.. Great opportunities for shopping in nearby towns, also Outlet-Shopping Centre (Roermond). And so much more.
