Large well-equipped and furnished Dutch (former) farmhouse dating from 1890 located in centre of peaceful Diever village. Guests have exclusive use of the front farmhouse which adjoins the owner's property. The house is entirely self contained with two entrances for full privacy. Diever village is located at the south-westerly tip of the province of Drenthe and is at the heart of unspoilt rural Dutch countryside.

Travel
Diever is easily accessible fron both Amsterdam Schiphol (2 hours) and Groningen Eelde (30 minutes) airports. A car is recommended (rental cars also available at both airports), although public transport (bus) just a few minutes walk away with links to the surrounding villages and towns. Nearest train station at Beilen (20 minutes away) with direct services to Groningen (30 minutes) and Amsterdam Airport (2 hours).
Distances
Approx. 2 hours east of Amsterdam. The towns of Hoogeveen (20 minutes), Assen (25 minutes), Emmen (45 minutes) and the city of Groningen (40 minutes) are easily accessible.
Further details
Supermarket, good variety of shops, cafe-pubs, restaurants and bank. Among the many near attractions are Emmen Zoo, Gnomeland and Giethoorn (the 'Venice of the Netherlands'). Diever is adjacent to the largest forest in the Netherlands - perfect for walking, cycling and horse riding - and is renowned for its Shakespearian plays held in the open-air theatre during the Summer months. During July/August you can take one of the 3 forest buses which wind their way 6 days a week through 14 of the small local villages. A Dutch National Tourist office is also nearby with a wealth of information on the surrounding area.

"I would highly recommend this property, the accommodation was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Gnd floor bedroom ideal for elderly as shower and WC easily accessible. Steep stairs to first floor with stair gate provided, all bedrooms comfortable and airy. Well-equipped kitchen. The owner has provided books and games in case of bad weather. Welcome pack on our arrival was a very nice touch. Situated in the centre of a busy village, close to local shops, restaurants and well stocked supermarket nearby. Diever is ideal for horse riding and cycling with many cycle paths close by, cycle hire is easily available. Lots to do in and around the area with a good bus service. We found the Dutch people were very friendly and helpful and we never found communicating a problem. The owner, David and family were extremely hospitable and nothing was too much trouble. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in “Under the Oaks”
