A beautiful Moroccan Riad built around an open central courtyard, with 6 lovely and individually decorated double bedrooms, all with air con/heating and iPod docks. The house can be rented as a whole, or on a Maison d'Hτtes basis by the room. There are plenty of places to relax, the romantic B'hou in the courtyard overlooking the stunning black-tiled pool, the salon, cool in summer and cosy in winter, and the wonderful roof terrace, where you can relax with a book or board game all provided for you, help yourself to a drink from the honesty bar, or just soak up the usually reliable Moroccan sun. We have a wonderful team of staff to look after your needs, and an excellent cook should you wish to dine in the Riad or under the stars on the terrace. An excellent Moroccan breakfast is included, as are flowers, toiletries and a welcome tea and cakes. John and Elizabeth, the English owners, are resident in Marrakech, and so are on hand to make sure you have a wonderful and memorable stay.

Changeover day
Subject to availability, bookings are welcome on any day, and we are as flexible as other bookings allow with early arrivals and late departures.
Notes on accommodation
All rooms in the Riad are heated and air conditioned. Children are welcome as part of a full Riad reservation. The Riad is fully staffed, and the kitchen is not for the use of guests. Laundry can be done on request.
Egyptian cotton sheets, towels and pool towels are provided. Towels are changed daily. Sheets when thought necessary (regularly). The property is cleaned from top to bottom every day.
Accessibility
There is vehicular access almost up to the door of the Riad, which is unusual in the Medina, and we have a ground floor double bedroom which is suitable for those with mobility problems.
Outside
The Riad is constructed around an open courtyard, the swimming pool, which is 4x4m, is situated in the courtyard. Sun loungers can be found on the roof terrace, as can traditional Moroccan seating areas in the shade, there is also an open fire on the terrace for chilly winter nights. An honesty bar and a good selection of books and board games are provided to make your holiday complete.
The courtyard has a beautiful black-tiled pool, the perfect place to cool off after soaking up the sun on the roof terrace, and a traditional B'hou, a great place to curl up with a good book. The roof terrace has an undercover seating area.
Coast/Beach
Marrakech is inland, the nearest resorts of Essaouira and Oualidia being a 2 hour drive away. There is, however, a Nikki Beach and Plage Rouge, the next best things!
Golf
There are 3 golf courses a 10 minute taxi drive away, and 5 more planned for further afield. John is a golfer, and is on hand to give advice and to help with bookings.
Special interest holidays
Guests can enjoy a cookery day at the Riad, starting with a trip to the market to buy the ingredients. The local market is a very traditional Moroccan market where locally grown, usually organic, produce is brought by the farmers to be sold, often from blankets on the ground. It is a feast for the senses, and an experience in itself. An informal and fun cookery lesson follows, where Bahija, our cook, and Leila, another member of the team, teach the art of Moroccan cookery as passed down to them through the generations. The day is pleasantly rounded off by you being served the fruits of your labours.
John and Elizabeth are happy to book any trips and excursions on guests' behalf. A visit to the Atlas mountains, beautiful Ourika Valley, the Barrage and the Cascades is a popular day trip.
Travel
Marrakech airport is a 30 minute drive away. Transfers can be organised by the Riad.
Distances
The Riad is ideally situated in the heart of the oldest quarter of the Medina, a short walk to the Medersa Ben Youssef, the Musιe de Marrakech and the souks about a 10 minute walk through the colourful and vibrant souks to the famous Place Jemaa el Fna. After a welcome cup of Moroccan tea and cakes, John and Elizabeth are happy to take guests through the fascinating labyrinth of the Medina streets to help new arrivals to get their bearings and thereby get the most out of their stay.
Further details
There are many and varied restaurants in Marrakech (most of which John and Elizabeth have eaten in!) and they are happy to give advice and to book restaurants on behalf of the guests. One of the best restaurants in the Medina, Le Foundouk, is situated only a few minutes walk from the Riad and, of course, guests are able dine in the Riad or on the roof terrace, on wonderful Moroccan cuisine. The souks are a few minutes walk away, and there are general stores very close by.

A 20% fee is taken to secure the booking, the balance being paid on departure.

You have created a miraculous oasis of serenity and calm here in the Medina. As soon as one crosses the threshold, the chaos and cacophony of the souk is a distant memory. Elizabeth, your sleek and sophisticated interpretation of Moroccan decor is worthy of a magazine cover, and yet everything was so comfy and relaxed. Not an easy balance to strike! Our Moroccan feast upon arrival was a visual and gastronomic treat, which set the tone for the remainder of our stay. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us.
