Riad Shaden is situated at the end of a quiet cul de sac within the ancient medina of Marrakech. Our English speaking staff are on hand throughout your stay, to assist with anything you need. Centred around a spacious courtyard with a fountain, the accommodation consists of 4 double/twin bedrooms and 2 suites, a spacious living room, and a sunny roof terrace. Breakfast is included in the price and our staff can also prepare other meals on request.

Prices are for standard rooms per night in UK Pounds. Please ask for prices for suites. Prices do not include tourist tax, payable locally, of 23 dirhams per person per night.
Changeover day
Changeover day is completely flexible, as are checking in and out times.

All linen and towels are provided. All bedrooms have safes and hairdryers. All rooms have reversible air conditioning/heating. Breakfast included. Daily cleaning service provided. Additional meals available on request. Our English speaking staff are on hand throughout your stay, to assist with anything you need.
Accessibility
Riad Shaden is unsuitable for people with mobility problems due to its location within the medina.
Outside
There is a large private roof terrace with covered seating area to escape the heat of the sun. Sunbeds are provided, and drinks and meals can also be taken on the terrace.
Coast/Beach
2.5 hours drive to the beautiful white coastal town of Essaouira.
Golf
There are several golf courses within a 15 minute drive.
Skiing
Skiing is available at Oukaimden, a one hour drive from Marrakech.
Travel
Riad Shaden is 15 minutes drive from Marrakech Menara airport. We recommend pre-booking an airport transfer with us as there is a short walk from the taxi drop-off point to the riad
Distances
15 minutes walking distance to souks and a large number of cafes and restaurants. Also walking distance to most tourist attractions, including Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Marrakech Museum and Ben Youssef Medersa. Short taxi ride to Majorelle Gardens and Menara Gardens.

We can arrange a variety of excursions including day trips to Essaouira and the Atlas mountains, as well as longer trips, eg to the desert.

25% deposit payable on confirmation oif reservation, with the balance due 6 weeks before your stay. Payment by bank transfer, Paypal or cheque.

Guest comments
From the airport pickup to the final farewells, Badr and the ladies at Riad Shaden could not have done more to make our family stay more delightful. The food was exceptional. The rooms are well appointed with extremely comfy beds. It really is an oasis in a very traditional part of the medina.
Lovely, warm, welcoming Riad in a non-touristy, residential area in the east of the medina. The staff were genuinely welcoming, attentive and helpful. Good home cooking including best soup we had during our 2 weeks in Morocco.
The food we ate at the Riad was amazing! The best we had! The service was amazing also, everyone was so friendly and warm.
Definately recommend it to anyone.

About the owner
I live in East Lothian, just outside Edinburgh, with my husband. I work part-time for the Scottish Government, where I have worked for just over 20 years. When I am not working I like to spend as much time as possible in Marrakech, although we also like to travel to other countries too.

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
I first travelled to Marrakech over 20 years ago, and always dreamed of owning a house there. I have travelled extensively around the whole of Morocco, and I love the friendliness of the people and the fact that it is such an exciting and different destination, while still being easily accessible from the UK. We bought our first riad in 2007, and in November 2010 we bought our second property, Riad Shaden.
Unique benefits of the property
We love being in a slightly less touristy of the medina, yet still only a 15 minute walk from Djemaa al Fna. We have an excellent team working for us, our manager Youssef and our guardian, Saeed both speak excellent English, and enjoy helping guests to make the most of their holiday. Our cooks are all amazing and everyone who has dinner at the riad says it was the best meal of their holiday.
