Dar Beida (the white house) is situated in the heart of Essaouira’s fortified medina and approximately a 10 minute walk to Essaouira’s long sandy beach. An organic modern living space has been moulded around ancient sandstone columns and thuya wood ceilings, and then a mix of eclectic colorful lighting and furnishings has been added, mainly from the 1960’s era. The house sleeps eight and special attention has been made to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Each client is given a pair of babbouche (Moroccan slippers) to use in the house and to take home with them. Local Argan soap, towels and bathrobes are also provided.

Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with double bed on mezzanine level. Bedroom 3 double bed. Bedroom 4 with double bed and private terrace. |
| Bathrooms: | Bedroom 1 with en-suite shower room. Bedroom 2 and 3 on same level sharing bathroom in between the 2 rooms. Bedroom 4 with outside sink but sharing either of the two shower rooms on other levels. |
| Kitchen: | Fully equipped kitchen with fridge, small freezer compartment, gas oven with hob. Basics like washing up liquid,cooking oils butter etc always on site. We leave tea, coffee, yoghurt's, milk, water, butter, jam and a fruit basket for your arrival. |
| Utility Room: | We have no utility room but my cleaner is more than happy to do any washing for you and return it the next day. |
| Living Rooms: | We have a small library with over 100 books, CDs and DVDs. Please note we do not have a TV so DVDs can only be watched if the client brings a laptop. We also have wifi and a phone. There are 2 living rooms with fire places and fire wood. |

House towels, beach towels, bath robes, linen all provided, changed once a week unless otherwise requested. The property is cleaned daily. |

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning not needed as the thick stone walls keep the old houses nice and cool. We supply plug in radiators for each bedroom plus 2 of the bedrooms also have open fire places. There are a lot of stairs so small children must be careful, plus we have many precious objects in the house so don't encourage very young children.

There are 2 fabulous sunny terraces, a couple of sun loungers, a large seating area and a hammock. These areas are also lit at night.
Coast/Beach
10 minute walk to Essaouira’s long sandy beach.
Travel
Marrakech. The journey is 2 and a half hours and we organize transfers to and from the airport, a car costs around £40 and a minibus around £60 each way. You do not need a car in Essaouira as everything is walking distance.
Further details
Everything is on your doorstep and a tour of the medina is given on your arrival. There is also an information pack in the house with phone numbers to reserve, horse riding, quad biking, yoga etc.
