Dar Doughri is a recently restored and traditionally decorated townhouse/villa/riad offering self-catering family and group accommodation within a short walk of Beach, Medina, Restaurants, swimming pools. Panoramic Views of the medina can be seen from the spacious private roof terrace with pergola and seating/eating area. The first floor has a generously proportioned double/family room, with ensuite bathroom and a twin room with private bathroom. The second floor opens onto the full equipped kitchen/breakfast room and a generous Moroccan salon with traditional seating and an open fireplace. The master bedroom with private bathroom share the same wonderful views on this floor. The third floor has a private twin room and en-suite bathroom which look out onto the terrace. Maid service is included and our English speaking guardian will help you make the most of your Moroccan experience. There is an file in the house with maps, restaurant reviews and local information in English.

Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Prices based up to 8 people sharing. Additional guests charged at £50 per head per week. Discounts will apply for longer stays of 2 weeks or more.
Dar Doughri is recently restored and re-decorated so dont be put off by the high availability - the house was taken off the rental market while the work was carried out. We are the new owners and are keen to make you as welcome as possible - please give us that opportunity!

Our English speaking guardian can help guests with booking activities and give advice on exploring the local area.
An information file, in English, is available for all guests which contains guest and owner recommendations on restaurants, supermarkets, adventures and various local maps.
Families with children of all ages welcome. We have a highchair, Chicco travel cot, and stair gate available.
A local supermarket and pharmacy are nearby.
Long term renters welcome, pets considered.

Accessibility
We are wheelchair inaccessible and unsuitable for the elderly or infirm due to stairs.
Outside
Private roof terrace and barbeque with panoramic view of the Beach and Medina. A large pergola and eating/lounging area is perfect for al fresco eating and reading in the shade. Sun loungers are also provided.
Coast/Beach
The beach is a 500m walk and there are also two swimming pools in local hotels that allow non residents. The 15km long beach will allow you plenty of space to sunbath, read, swim and play beach sports. You can secure yourself a sunbed and umbrella if you need it and the public toilets are well managed. If you have young children you can enjoy the secure play areas with swings and slides dotted along the beach. The costal breeze rarely allows the temperature to get above mid 30's.

Nearest airport: Marrakech at 180km. Nearest ferry port: Agadir at 180km. Nearest railway station: Marrakech at 160km. Car hire can be arranged for transfer and excursions. Parking outside.

Bab Marakesh for entry into the Medina 400m. Village store/bakers 300m. Pharmacy 50m. Local activities include camel riding, dune buggies, trekking, surfing, swimming, tennis, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wind-surfing, mountain biking.
Further details
Dar Doughri is a short walk through Bab Marakesh for entry into the ancient Medina (walled town) - see pics. The townhouse/villa/riad is equipped for self catering and there are plenty and fruit, vegetables, meats, spices and fresh fish to purchase but restaurants along the beach or in the Medina also offer a variety of Moroccan, French and Italian cuisine. In the souks you will find hidden gems in leather, silver, and ceramics and there are no motorised vehicles allowed inside the Medina, which gives it a very hassle free atmosphere. There are a number of banks, bakers, village shops and pharmacies a short walk from Dar Doughri as are the three hotel swimming pools in the town which are open to non residents. The Portuguese ramparts and a small working fishing port provide plenty of sites to explore. Family/adventure activities locally include camel riding, dune buggies, trekking, surfing, swimming, tennis, sailing, cycling, fishing, horse riding, wind-surfing, mountain biking.

The above price is based on up to 8 person occupancy. Any additional guests are charged at £50 per head per week. The rate is negotiable for stays longer than 2 weeks. Maid service is included in the price. We also have an English speaking guardian who will welcome you and give advice on how to get the most out of your holiday, help with bookings and will help in case of an emergency.

November 2007. 'We had a lovely time over the break. The house was great. We particularly liked it because it was simply furnished and seemed to be ‘authentic’ and tasteful. It was great that the transport was arranged for us to and from Marrakech and also that they had some basic food for us in the apartment.
