The riad offers four exquisite double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and heating/air-conditioning. Both the salon and salle à manger have fireplaces and a third salon is equipped with satellite TV, board games, wifi and laptop for guest use. The terrace is a wonderful place to relax in the sun, enjoy breakfast or dinner, with views over the medina rooftops to the Koutoubia Mosque and on a clear day, stunning views of the High Atlas mountains. Our cook, Kabira prepares the most delicious Moroccan and French cuisine. Whether it's Briouattes, Stuffed Quail with Apricots or Lemon Chicken, you'll be in for a true gastronomic delight! Breakfast is included and consists of freshly squeezed orange juice, tea and coffee, yogurt, eggs, and a wonderful selection of fresh bread, croissants, pastries and crepes with honey and jam. We take great pride in providing discreet, first rate service, and our friendly team will do all they can to ensure your stay is memorable.

Changeover day
Changeover is completely flexible, and as a guideline check-in is usually no later than 12 midday, and 11h00 for check out.
Notes on accommodation
All bedrooms have a digital safe for personal effects, delicious scented toiletries, a hairdryer, and reversible air-conditioning to ensure you remain cool or warm, depending on the season.

There is vehicle access to within 200m of the riad.
Outside
The roof terrace is wonderful for relaxing in the sun or shade, with stunning views of the atlas mountains. Sun loungers and parasols are available. Breakfast and dinner is served here during the warmer months. The riad is situated around an open courtyard, with lush vegetation and a plunge pool. The pool is an absolute must during the summer. Also on the terrace is a refreshing open air cold shower!
Coast/Beach
The lovely coastal town of Essaouira is 180km/3 hours by road. We can organise a car and driver, or you can take a tourist coach. Oualidia is the same distance, famous for its seafood and oysters. If you want to swim, but don't feel like travelling far, Marrakech offers several excellent options, such as the Beldi Country Club, Nikki Beach and the Plage Rouge.
Golf
Just 20 mins by car to several top level golf courses.
Skiing
During the winter season, skiing is available at Oukaimden, one hour from Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains.

Distances
Walking distance to the souks, Jemaa el Fna and to all the main attractions, including the Majorelle Gardens. Close to several excellent restaurants - see "Further Details" below. After a welcome cup of Moroccan mint tea and pastries, Peter is available to show new arrivals through the medina streets to help get their bearings. Sports available nearby: Tennis. Watersports. Waterpark. Horse riding.

Booking notes
Deposit of 50% of total accommodation cost required to secure reservation and is due at time of booking. The remaining balance is due at riad on check out. Reservations received within 30 days of arrival require payment in full. Cancellation policy applies - details on request.

Difficult to add anything to previous positive reviews, only to say that the standards remain excellent. Peter, Hassan and Fatima were all equally helpful and welcoming, charming and accommodating. The 'team' are clearly committed to providing high levels of customer service and this is evident from the moment of arrival. Although it was my sixth time in Marrakech, the map that Peter provided us with was the most helpful yet, and the riad was the best by far. Peter has clearly gone to great lengths to check out local facilities and services before making recommendations to his guests and his knowledge was extremely useful (e.g local shopping, dining etc) We left to stay outside of Marrakech for three days and the highlight of our holiday was returning to Dar Zaman! Truly an excellent place to stay. A home from home!

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
Marrakech is an extraordinary place, a mixture of medieval and modern - you'll leave feeling you've been to another world. Not just in the sense of having stepped back in time in the ancient medina, but also in the sense of having experienced a richness of stunning backdrops, magical places, and the seductive charm of Moroccan hospitality. It was this that caught my imagination when I first visited Marrakech in 2003 and inspired me to create Dar Zaman (which means old house, or literally, house of time gone by).
