Notes on accommodation
Heating and air-conditioning in all rooms. Safe environment for children. Fantastic traditional meals can be made by Majda the housekeeper, and are paid locally.

Travel
Marrakech airport 10 minutes drive. Your contact while staying with us is Mustapha. He will meet you at the airport with a sign of Riad Zalia and your name. He will take you to the riad where you will be greeted by the housekeeper Majda, who will offer you freshly squeezed orange juice or mint tea.
Further details
There is a large hypermarket where you can purchase all your groceries. Close to the riad are local stalls and a bakery with French style breads and crossiants. There are many fine restaurants in Marrakech.
As a guest of Riad Zalia you have complimentary entry to the world famous resort of Niki Beach "Marrakech" an upmarket. pool, restaurant and bar resort, located on the outskirt of the town. You will also be advised by Mustapha all the activies we offer our guests, including day trips to Essaouira and the Saraha Desert. These should be paid locally. The house keeper is included in the daily or week price.

25% deposit is required at time of booking. Final payment and refundable deposit will be requested 6 weeks prior to departure.

About the owner
I live and work in central London and have been doing this for the past 15 years and love the fast past of life this city offers. However, I need a plan out of my current job and building or renovating properties seems like the best way out. I have high standards and enjoy achieving this, in the quality and design of the builds and the service I offer to our guests. I have 2 properties, one in the Medina in Marrakech (ref MR10) and the other in Fuerteventura (ref C3220) and hope to keep rolling these out, next one is planned in Southern Crete! I now have a fan base of guests that holiday amongst the 3 properties, which is the best compliment I can get from my guests. I am always happy to hear from them and now they are like friends.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Marrakech is an amazing place and only a 3 hour flight from London, yet a different world. It has great all year round sun and is an ideal place to visit when London gets grey and cold. If you go to Marrakech, you have to stay in a riad. This gives you such an unique experience of how the local people live in the heart of the medina (old town). You will have such a different experience than staying in a hotel. The locals will notice you as you walk the alleyways and greet you with a big smile if they see you more than once, its a really good feeling. Marrakech is now connected to all the major Cities of Europe and has all the budget airlines flying there. Over 7 flights a day now from the UK.
Unique benefits of the property
Riad Zalia offers a unique chance to stay in a whole riad without having to share it on a room basis. When I first went to Marrakech every riad was let on the French style of a room only basis and you had the noise of other guests or the housekeepers being there. Staying at Riad Zalia you get the whole place to yourself, which is great and is now catching on with more private riads to rent. However, our riad is modern and stylish and has all the mod cons you would expect in renting a home in Europe. When renovating the riad, the building collapsed, which was a shock at first, but then this allowed us to create more open planned living and wider stairs and rooms, to give a light and airy feel to the riad.
