The scenic countryside around apartments in Monterchi can be enjoyed on foot or by bike thanks to the numerous trails that wind through the landscape. It’s a region with rolling hills, olive groves, wheat fields and stone paths lined with cypress trees. For a day out, the city of Florence is about 80 kilometres from Monterchi self-catering holiday cottages. It’s synonymous with the renaissance, and boasts a profusion of beguiling art, interesting museums and magnificent architecture. It’s also an important upmarket shopping destination, with streets like via de’ Tornabuoni replete with luxury boutiques. Closer to Monterchi apartments is the town of Sansepolcro, just a few minutes to the north. Also known for its art, you can find four celebrated works by Piero della Francesca here at the Museo Civico.
Weather
At a villa in Tuscany you’ll be able to enjoy warm weather from spring to autumn, although temperatures are rarely fiercely hot. The nights in this part of the country are also pleasantly cool, even in the summer.
