Notes on accommodation
This studio apartment is newly refurbished and is situated on the 2nd floor of a 17th century building. It has air-conditioning/heating, and is fully furnished. The building is situated in the quiet part of the old town near the north gate with views of the fortress and surrounding mountains. Please note that no cars are allowed in kotor old town so the only parking is on the outside of the old town walls. 5 minutes walk to studio apartment.
Accessibility
Cars are not permitted in the old town, but the apartment has easy access to the North gate with parking spaces close by. The studio apartments are not suitable for wheelchair users as they are on the 2nd floor without an elevator. They are both accessed via communal stairs.
Outside
Overlooking a beautiful, quiet square with a bakery, small supermarket, a fantastic fish-restaurant, and cafe. Two minutes walk to parking.
Coast/Beach
There is a small local beach in Dobrota which is ten minutes walk away, where there are a selection of bars and restaurants overlooking the water. Alternatively, there are some stunning beaches which are about a 30 minute drive away -Blue Horizon, Zanjice, Jaz, Ploce to name a few. And the new Porto Montenegro is only a 20 minute drive away.
Skiing
Why not visit the Kolasin and/or Zabljak - fantastic for skiing in winter months between December and April with rental facilities of skis and ski wear.
Special interest holidays
In the summer months the Durmitor region is great for rambling/mountain biking/swimming/canoeing on the Black lake. Try out white water rafting in the Tara Canyon or visit the national park in Lovcen. All are stunning.
Travel
You can fly to Dubrovnik, Croatia from Gatwick with British Airways, Easy Jet and Croatian Airlines. And then rent a car to drive to Montenegro which takes 1.5 hours, which is a beautiful drive around the Bay of Kotor. Montenegro Airlines flies from Gatwick directly to Montenegro to either Podgorica Airport (1.5 hours drive to Kotor) or Tivat Airport (10 minutes drive to Kotor), but it depends on the time of year.
Distances
The beautiful coastal Old Town of Budva is a 30 minute drive, or alternatively, the historic town of Perast is only a 15 minute drive from Kotor. Or take a boat from Kotor marina and visit the 2 islands in the bay that are steeped in local history, or some of the stunning beaches. Skadar Lake, the largest fresh water lake in Europe is simply stunning and approx 1 hour away from Kotor.
Further details
There is a huge choice of excellent restaurants and bars within the walls of Kotor Old town. Dobrota, a few minutes walk, has some excellent restaurants over looking the water. Budva, Perast, and Tivat also have a wide choice of bars and restaurants and are only 30 minutes max drive away. The red taxi service outside the old town main gates is excellent and cheap!
Booking notes
25% deposit is required to secure the booking. A the remaining amount is due 4 weeks prior to arrival. A refundable security deposit of 150 euros cash is required upon arrival, this will be refunded in full (or less if there have been any damages caused during your stay) at check out.
