This newly built 2-bedroom apartment is a perfect base from which to enjoy a holiday in beautiful Montenegro. Situated in the peaceful village of Muo, overlooking Kotor it has 2 private balconies, ideal for alfresco dining, and is just 2 minutes walk from the sea. The small development has 2 swimming pools from which there are stunning views of Kotor Bay and the mountains. You can buy most things you need from the mini-markets in Muo, which also has several good restaurants and bars. Within 15 minutes' walk is the medieval walled town of Kotor. With its labyrinth of streets, Kotor is a joy to explore and you can take in museums, palaces and churches as well as stylish boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Banks, cash points and supermarkets are available in Kotor or in nearby Tivat. The nearest airport is Tivat, about a 15 minute drive away. Croatia's Dubrovnik airport is around 90 minutes drive and the capital Podgorica is 90 minutes drive. Local buses are nearby and convenient.

Notes on accommodation
The apartment is spacious and very comfortable and is equipped to a high standard. Wide range of kitchen utensils and equipment. It is the only apartment in the complex with shutters on the windows, meaning the apartment can be kept very cool during the summer months. It is also used as a holiday home by the English owners and is managed by a very reliable English owned company who are based locally. They will provide a 'meet and greet' service and be your main point of local contact for the duration of your stay. We provide a comprehensive information pack and are happy to give recommendations, if you would like them, before your holiday. The apartment is ideal for either a group of friends sharing and/or families.
The apartment is located uphill from the Bay, hence the wonderful views. Access is via steps.
Due to the apartment’s elevated position the views are marvellous. The balcony is a perfect place to take in the scenery whilst enjoying breakfast or a sundowner and has good quality outdoor furniture. There is a landscaped garden with 2 swimming pools - one with a children's section and the other with a jacuzzi. All have stunning views over the Bay to Kotor old town. The swimming pool area is set on a large terrace and is equipped with quality outdoor furniture. The whole complex and grounds are well maintained by the on-site team and the pool is filled and maintained daily throughout May – September. Complimentary sunbathing loungers are also provided by the pool. There is a small children's playground area. A parking space is provided.
The apartment is a two-minute walk to the water's edge, where there is access to the water for safe swimming and fishing in Kotor Bay. Sandy beaches are within 25 minutes' drive. A day out on a boat is a fantastic experience, enabling you to visit small villages, blue grotto caves, restaurants and beaches or take in a romantic sunset. We can recommend responsible boat owners who can take you out on either a sailing or speed boat.
There is a new driving range at Lustica Bay (20 minutes by car) and Gary Player-designed golf course is being planned there.
Muo is only a couple of hours drive from the ski resorts of Zabljak and Kolasin, as well as the stunning River Tara canyon - home to some of the best white water rafting in Europe.
Special interest holidays
As well as relaxing on the shore of beautiful Kotor Bay, absorbing the stunning mountain scenery, the area has plenty to offer to those who enjoy the great outdoors: water skiing, wake boarding, pleasure boating, fishing, snorkiling, diving, hiking, whitewater rafting and mountain biking are all close at hand. In addition, there are beautiful hilltop walks, rock climbing, parasailing and hang gliding. For those who want great night life, the nearby town of Budva provides the main action!
How to get there
Muo is ideally situated for access and the apartment is 15 minutes from the local airport of Tivat and 90 minutes from the capital's Podgorica airport and Dubrovnik Airport in neighbouring Croatia. Montenegro Airlines fly from Gatwick to Tivat on Sundays and Wednesdays. Lots of European airlines fly to Dubrovnik including BA, EasyJet and FlyBe and Aer Lingus flies from Ireland. Car hire is recommended and available at all airports. We can help you organise an airport collection/drop off as well.
Muo is a the perfect base for enjoying your holiday in Montenegro. The historic walled town of Kotor is a 15-20 minute walk away and has cathedrals, yachts, cafes, restaurants, bars, supermarkets, banks and cash points. You can reach sandy beaches within 25 mins drive. The historic seaside town of Budva is around 30 minutes away and the famous Sveti Stefan island around 40 minutes away. The modern capital Podgorica is 90 minutes away and activities at Lake Skadar around 60-90 minutes.
Everyone who visits Montenegro seems to fall in love with it. There is something for everyone, whether you are looking for history, art and culture, for wild adventure or for poolside relaxation. The people are warm and friendly and have a very strong culture of family. English is reasonably widely spoken. You can spend time exploring old fishing villages or travel further afield for rafting, hiking, riding, skiing and mountain biking. Local cuisine and wine are superb and portions are generous! Montenegro uses the Euro and prices are generally 30% cheaper than you would find in Spain or Italy. There are many cafes and restaurants in which you can enjoy long, lazy meals or lively music and conversation. Within walking distance of the apartment are a number of lovely 'konobas' and tavernas. If you are looking for adventure you can kayak, jet-ski, wake board, go whitewater rafting or sailing. Or if you just want peace and relaxation, Montenegro has a lovely climate and you can chill out by the pool throughout the long, hot summer months.
Kotor Bay is a place of stunning natural beauty. It is the southern-most fjord in Europe and is a vast butterfly-shaped expanse of water surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. Kotor Bay is remarkable for its wonderful coastal scenery and the many pretty villages and towns that dot the shoreline. Kotor Old Town is one of the most exquisitely preserved medieval centres in Southern Europe. The awe-inspiring 12th century city walls climb 200m up the sheer mountain face and form an impressive backdrop to Kotor's annual Venetian carnival.
To secure the reservation a 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. Payment for bookings is to be made in pounds sterling via PayPal. The remaining balance is due no later than 8 weeks prior to arrival. On arrival, a refundable security deposit of 150 euros is to be paid to the property manager to cover any damage to the apartment or furnishings.

We could have easily just sat on the balcony all day looking at the view. But we didn't, we used our time to travel around lots of the beaches and of course go to Tivat and Budva and even down as far as Sveti Stefan. We fell in love with Montenegro in 2006 and decided to co-purchase an apartment so that our friends and rental guests could also enjoy the delights of Kotor Bay. We believe in making sure our guests have a great time and are happy to provide advice - there is no such thing as a stupid question! We love: - The view from the balcony - morning, noon or night - The sunshine - Vranac Pro Corde (great red wine for 5 euros) Our kids love: - The swimming pools - The pancakes at Zanjic beach - The way that Kotor's lights at night-time look just like the shape of a lion's head
Unique benefits of the property
Our apartment is in the stunning Kotor Vista complex, set on the top floor so you'll get no scraping chair noises from the guests above you! It also means you have a perfect and unhindered view of Kotor Old Town from the balcony. It is also the only apartment which has shutters, meaning that you can keep the apartment cool in the day while you are out, without having to use the air-con. So it is potentially the 'greenest' apartment in the block too! We have kitted out the apartment with all the cutlery, kitchen utensils and cooking equipment you could ever need and this is not something that can be said of all the apartments that are rented out.
