Durmitor Mountain has been listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site proclaiming the whole mountain region a national park. Durmitor enjoys over 120 snow covered days per year. However, the tourist season stretches all year round with plenty of activities on offer, including rafting, hunting, fishing, hiking, etc. The chalet is in a walking distance to Crno (Black) Lake, which is a premium tourist attraction of Durmitor. It has been completely renovated in the last year, but has also kept its rustic Montenegrin charm and comprises of many original features, including the old fireplace and traditional furniture and decorations. The chalet itself comprises of 3 bedrooms and will comfortably sleep 6 people, with a pull-out sofa also available in the living room. Another fantastic feature is a large terrace where you can enjoy magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday is preferable, but we are flexible.

Notes on accommodation
All rooms have central heating. There is also a log burner in the living room and additional electric heaters.
Chalet is suitable for children. It is a family friendly home, but also a place to go on a romantic getaway, a friends chillout place and a great sportsmen base.
Accessibility
The house is not wheelchair friendly, although there is a sofa bed in the living room and downstairs bathroom.
Outside
Table and comfortable chairs are provided. Either having a morning coffee, or in the evening watching the squirrels play on the trees surrounding the house, you will enjoy sitting on a spacious front terrace. Private garden and parking suitable for 3 cars. Access road is always cleared from snow during the winter, so parking is easy just a few steps from the front door.
Coast/Beach
The closest beach is ~180km (3 hours drive) away.
Skiing
Zabljak is the highest resort in the Balkans (1,456m), surrounded by more then 20 peaks higher then 2,200m. There is snow from End of November till April. Skiing season is January to March.
Chalet is 4km from Savin Kuk (main ski lifts, up to 2,250m, ski runs 3,5km long, lighting for night skiing, ski school, ski pass office, ski hire, 2 restaurants and 1 bar).
Bosaca and Stuoc ski lifts (~800m away) are currently under renovation (1,8km long, ski school, ski pass office, restaurant) and will be re-opening soon.
Javorovaca ski lift ~2km away (400m long slope, ski school, ski pass office, ski hire).
Cross country skiing available throughout the area. During the summer, there is glacier skiing at Velita Kalica. Skidoo hire and ice skating on Black Lake also available.
Travel
Zabljak is accessible from Podgorica, Tivat and Dubrovnik airports. During the winter, drive via Podgorica-Kolasin-Mojkovac (through Tara canyon). Otherwise, the route through Niskic and Savnik is quicker from coastline airports (Tivat/Dubrovnik). Please note that Savnik-Zabljak is closed winter time.

The town of Zabljak is situated in the north-west of Montenegro, in the heart of the Durmitor Mountain region. Zabljak lies 1450 meters above the sea level, making it the highest urbanisation in the Balkans. Zabljak is also surrounded by 23 mountain peaks, 18 mountain lakes, and the canyon of Tara river, the deepest in Europe.
It is the town of all seasons. Apart from winter sports- skiing, snowboarding, langlauf etc, there are plenty of activities you can enjoy summer time. Alpining trails are suitable for training and instruction of begginer alpinists (winter and summer time). Mountaineering of all varieties, from the mildest of hikes to mountain climbing of extreme intensity, with all the main paths well marked and expertly described. Paragliding can be enjoyed from the highest peak of Savin Kuk (1,953), as well as from Bosaca and Golubinje. There are perfect conditions for mountain biking, as there are countless cross country and free ride trails, forest trails and a beginner path circling the Crno Lake. Rafting and kayaking can be experienced on Tara River (tourist tour is about 60km long), with a raft, kayak or a pneumatic boat. Kayaks and boats can also be used on Crno Lake for recreation purposes. Sport fishing is permited in some areas of Tara River. A photo safari is also reccommended to capture the natural beauty and unforgetable landscapes. Last but not the least, for relaxing in a clean mountain air, you can always take a wlak tour and discover rich plant and animal life of Durmitor.
