One of the most popular places to take a Hawaii holiday is the magical island of Maui. Maui is the second largest of the Hawaiian islands and has some of the world’s finest beaches, great weather, luxurious accommodation and spectacular volcanic scenery. The swaying palms, powdery white beaches, lush rainforests and welcoming Aloha spirit are just some of the things that make this island paradise the perfect choice for Hawaii travel.

The spacious, well-equipped accommodation in Maui is set in a tropical island playground, where you’ll never be short of things to do. Villas and apartment condos in Maui put visitors amongst breathtaking scenery, making Maui holiday accommodation ideal for lovers of nature and the great outdoors.

The most popular tourists spots on the island include the Hāna Highway, Haleakalā National Park and Lāhainā. Hookipa Beach Park offers the world’s best windsurfing, while the North Shore beaches are famous for great surfing conditions, particularly in winter. You can also enjoy a helicopter tour of the Iao valley, go whale watching or horse riding, do a volcano trek or explore the bustling towns of Paia and Kahului.

Maui Weather

Maui weather is influenced by the rugged, irregular topography as well as trade winds that bring daily variations in rainfall patterns. Summers are generally warm and dry, whilst winters are mild although afternoon thundershowers are not unusual.

Best time to go

The great weather makes Maui an ideal holiday destination throughout the year, however if enjoy surfing, kite surfing or wind surfing the best time to go is in the winter when the ocean swells are at their best.

Reaching accommodation in Maui

Kahalui airport (OGG) is the main airport on Maui, however there are no direct flights from the UK. Visitors to beach cottages and condos in Maui will need to fly to Honolulu (HNL) and take a connecting flight to Kahalui.
