Further north from St Paul's Bay, lies the town of Mellieha, which sits on top of a hill, overlooking the 'tail end' of Malta. It is also surrounded by fertile valleys and most spots provide good panoramas of the countryside, the Bay - which has the longest beach - 600m (650 yards) in Malta and northwards towards Comino and Gozo. The town is popular with Maltese and visitors alike. One can also find some good restaurants, entertainment and full shopping facilities. The village festa is celebrated on 8th September.

Kitchen combined with living and dining area. Fans, TV,WiFi, Internet access, iron, iron board, safe deposit box, cooker, four ring stove, oven and grill, fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, all with either terrace or balcony. Served by lift. All apartments with terrace or balcony and including their own garden/patio furniture. The pool measures 8 x 4 meters with surrounding bathing area. Some of the apartments have a pool view from their balcony whilst others have an open front view. An intercom system is installed, with connection to each apartment. Washing machine free to use.

Review Submitted: October 4, 2009, date of stay: September 2009: we have stayed for two weeks at this apartment in September 2008. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The organization and communication was fantastic. Thanks !! Pick up from the airport, car rental was all perfect organized.
Regarding the accommodation: It was clean and big enough to stay there with three people (Two separate bedrooms, one with an additional toilet). Also the pool area was nice to get a cooling after a warm day. The area was beautiful and quite enough to get relaxed. Even if you wanted to have a party you had to go into the town with it΄s several bars. The beach at Melieh was sandy, clean and not over crowded. Think that depends on the reason. All required shops can be found in the area nearby, bakery, butcher, fish shop, patisserie, supermarket. Generally all the prices were fair, also within the restaurants which were not bad. A car is definitively needed all the time. Following improvements could be made: We arrived in the late evening and were tired and thirsty but there was no water available at the apartment. A plan of the near area would be helpful when you arrive. Sure to come back in some years. Tanks again for a great holiday.
Recommended for: age 55+, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

Review Rating: 5/5 "As I am in a wheelchair we were rather worried about the suitability of booking an apartment abroad but the owners assured us it would be ideal, and it was. The owners were so kind & helpful but not at all intrusive. The property was very clean and well maintained. On the one evening when we had a terrific rain storm and water flooded everywhere, they quickly cleaned up.Nothing was too much trouble for them. The apartments are in a lively town but set back from the hustle 'n' bustle so you get a peacful nights sleep. There are so many places to see & things to do that after such a great holiday in 2006 we returned in 2007 to the Merrill Apartments. The owners are so caring and helpful, the apartments clean and bright, the weather superb, the locals so friendly, the food's great and plenty to do and see IF you've got transport or just laze on the beach: what more do you want on holiday? Malta here we come again! "
