With Sun-Basked Patio and Garden
Sleeps 6 (2 Bedrooms)

You long for a rural idyll, yet would like the sea nearby. And if you could also have the sun... Well, you can have it all : there are probably less than a dozen windmill towers still standing on Gozo, but if you hurry this mill built in 1885 might be available for you to (re)discover the special place that is Calypso’s Island. Welcome to our Gozo Windmill!

Outside
Sunny south-facing patio with barbecue and stone table, and steps leading to garden. The millstone has been left as a feature in the corner of the patio.
Coast/Beach
The small Xlendi beach is about 2 miles as the crow flies (fairly steep stairs at the end of 45 minutes walk), and Ramla Bay -the island's largest beach- about 7 miles from the mill.
Travel
Cycle hire would be recommended, but car hire is unfortunately often the preferred option...
Gozo, the island where Calypso kept Ulysses seven years under her spell, is smaller, quieter and quainter than Malta mainland. It is reached thanks to a frequent ferry service, or using the helicopter departing from Luqa international airport.
Distances
Gozo Island is 15 km by 10 km (9 miles by 6), so the sea is never far. Yet, it is a very rural island, with many terraced fields where melons, tomatoes, vegetables ... or carnations are grown. In the spring when nature is green and blooming, you can understand why Ulysses could not leave.
Further details
On Gozo, one finds natural wonders (Azure Window, Fungus Rock), salt pans, four five star (*****) hotels, excellent diving facilities, enough restaurants to eat well but not so many that you feel taken for granted, a few night clubs, numerous memorable walks, birds aplenty (and hunters who try to shoot them), lots of sun and wind etc.
