Special interest holidays
Malta loves to celebrate and sparkle. Every weekend, from June to September, these "festi" are part and parcel of the Maltese Summer. A great deal of planning and preparation goes into making the festa an event the entire village is proud of. The celebrations are a superb spectacle of colour and life. Later on comes the highlight of the evening - a superb firework display, which creates a magical extravaganza. The local Village festa of The Nativity of Our Lady is on the 8 September. The feast is a national public holiday.
