Birzebbuga is a charming southern coastal town, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy northern resorts. This town is simple in character, providing an opportunity to experience local lifestyles. The piazza (centre of town), is just a few minutes from your accommodation and here you will find typical shops, traditional bakeries, an open air market and the friendly locals doing ordinary everyday activities, like shopping for their families, going to work, chatting in the streets. The 3km sea front provides for a pleasant walk or swim at one of two bays. The charming St. Georges Bay is peppered with colourful fishing boats and has a small beach. The larger Pretty Bay beach with the imposing freeport in the distance makes an interesting but also relaxing spot to soak up the rays of the sun as the occasional ship delivers its wares to the islands. A sea route established thousands of years ago, evidence of the rich history this area has.

Notes on prices
Rates are based on 1/2 people sharing. Additional 3rd/4th person, add €5 per person per night.
A €40 service charge per booking (not per person) is added to the rental. This includes arrival day maid preparation, basic starter pack and pick up from airport to apartment (for arrival only).
Changeover day
No restrictions on changeover day. Check-in time from 2pm onwards. Check-out time is 10am or earlier.
If the apartment is available earlier on arrival day/later on departure day, you are welcome to use it. Subject to availability.
Notes on accommodation
Each unit includes free wifi or cable internet, cable tv, cable radio, telephone (charges for outgoing calls apply), hair dryer, iron and ironing board.
A dvd movie, book and games library are available from the common area.
For families with young children/infants a high chair and travel cot is provided (subject to availability).
Shower gel, hand wash, toilet tissue, floor cleaning detergent and washing liquid are provided.

Accessibility
This property is not suitable for wheelchair users. For guests that struggle with steps, entrance into the property main entrance is at a dislevel from the street, up 8 steps to enter.

Coast/Beach
The seafront, harbour and sandy beaches are within walking distance, only 400 metres from the property.
The 3km sea front provides for a pleasant walk or swim at one of two bays. The charming St. Georges Bay is peppered with colourful fishing boats and has a small sandy beach, rock swimming is also possible here. The larger Pretty Bay beach is ideal for all ages including families with small children.
Special interest holidays
The south of Malta provides you with ample opportunities other areas of the island does not. There are a variety of leisure services which you can enjoy including sailing, biking, walking etc..
Travel
Buses are cheap and operate every 15 minutes to Valletta.
Local tours, Jeep Safaris, Sicily Excursions, Cruises can be booked for you and operators will pick-up from the church which is only 300 metres away.
Car hire does give you the opportunity to get and about and explore the islands at your own pace. Distances are short in Malta, the island is only 17 miles from north to south and 9 miles east to west.

Further details
The main shopping activity is concentrated around the piazza (centre of town) which is only 400 metres from the property. Here you will find an abundance of shops including mini markets, greengrocer, butcher and other outlets. Every Thursday morning there is a local market.
Restaurants are also in abundance, these range from small taverna type outlets to large restaurants and between them they offer all types of cuisine including both local, Mediterranean, Chinese and also cheap take-aways and fast food outlets.
You can find a good choice of bars along the seafront, however if you want to mix and mingle with the locals the place to go is the 'Palazz San Pietru' in the piazza (centre of town). This is the local band club (a type of social club) which has a very popular bar. Prices a very reasonable and they also serve free nibbles with your drinks on certain days.
There are two banks in the town, chemists, doctors clinics, hairdressers a post office and other types of shops.

You have two options to confirm a booking.
Option 1 - Credit card details including card number, expiry date, CVV and name on card. There are no charges to your card, it is only used to guarantee your booking. The full amount is then paid in Malta with euro currency.
Option 2 - Send a deposit by bank transfer/wire. The amount and bank details are provided on request. The balance amount is then paid in Malta with euro currency.

About the owner
Both myself and my wife (Joan) have been involved in the tourism sector for many many years we just love meeting new people and making them happy. We have a son who is still studying at the moment. Joan is a tour guide and I have an incoming tour agency.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
It is located in a quiet area on the edge of the town, yet only 400 metres from the piazza (centre) and beach...all the shops are in walking distance.
This property has a special place in our hearts, the land the property is built on, was given to my wife by her father.
The holiday apartments that we are offering are actually the result of an extensive conversion from what was our own enormous house, having a floor area of 350sqm, into these three spacious and beautiful independent units..this total conversion happened between mid 2009 and mid 2010.
We now live in a much smaller house and closer to our place of work.
We are confident you will have some fond memories of the property and the location just like we have...we do look forwarding to welcoming you to our home.
Unique benefits of the property
As the property is close to all the shops it is very convenient. In additional it is located at the edge of the village, therefore there is hardly any vehicles passing.
The fact that the property is village core, our guests particularly find the neighbours, shop owners very friendly and courteous which quite normal for Malta.
I do believe that the real benefit staying here is that you have the opportunity to live and enjoy the local lifestyles. If you want large hotels, shopping malls, hectic nightlife etc.. don't bother coming because you will very very disappointed. On the other hand, if you enjoy slow paced, local bars and restaurants, meeting locals etc...you will love it.
