Casa Isabella is a unique house in a unique setting. It is one of the old Norman houses in the ancient walled city of Mdina. This mini palazzo is situated in its own gated alley, with a pretty front garden and internal courtyard, making it both quiet and private. It is not overlooked and has been done up to very high standards and is extremely comfortable both in Summer and Winter. Casa Isabella is full of chatacter boasting wooden beams, vaulted ceilings, an open fire place and typical sicula-Norman features and is complimented by modern bathrooms and kitchen. The courtyard is an idyllic spot for relaxing and entertaining. Shops, restaurants, cafes and bars are all within walking distance, as are buses and taxis. Mdina is very well located in the centre of the island giving easy access to delightful countryside walks, numerous beaches and historical sites.

Notes on prices
Prices start at £25 per person per day with 6 staying. Prices are for the property (all year round) in UK pounds. Can be paid in GB pounds or euros. Long lets are available winter or summer. £2000 per month not including water/electricity/Cable TV and telephone. Price negotiable depending on length of stay. 10% to be paid as deposit on booking and 90% 1 month prior to arrival.
Changeover day
Flexible changeover except in school summer holidays when it is Saturday to Saturday. Guests can be met the at airport by arrangement. Car hire can be organised.

| Living Rooms: | The stunning, beamed sitting room, with minstrels' gallery, has an open fireplace, 2 lovely Norman windows and a small terrace. There is cable TV and a DVD player. The vaulted dining room has an oak table for 8-10 and opens onto the hall and courtyard. |
| Other: | On entering this private, family home you find yourself in a beautiful, spacious hall facing the courtyard, with the dining room and kitchen leading off to either side. The furniture is lovely with many family antiques and beautiful paintings. |

Towels, linen and beach towels are included. There is maid service once a week included and a weekly change of sheets and towels provided. Further help can be organised and paid for directly. |

Notes on accommodation
There are 2 bunk beds (5' 9") for children up to approx. 12 years old and a travel cot. There is plenty of play space for children and the front garden is ideal because it is gated. There are various toys available for use. 2 bedrooms have fans and air con and 1 has a fan. The master bedroom is very spacious allowing plenty of room for a cot. The 2nd bedroom is unique, having a vaulted ceiling and a spiral staircase, a relic of the old tram, which leads to its bathroom. The 3rd bedroom has built in wardroes and a roof terrace. There is a lovely open fireplace in the sitting room.
Accessibility
Wheelchair users would find this house impossible because it is on so many different levels. The main stairs however are not too steep and the sitting room and bedroom 1 are on one level.
Outside
There are comfortable folding directors chairs for the courtyard and the roof terrace off bedroom 2. The small front garden is gated and the alley is completely private. There are lovely walks in and around Mdina and fresh fruit and vegetables in abundance.
Coast/Beach
There are some lovely beaches within 15 mins drive. Beautiful clear water and golden sand on the west side of the island in lovely scenery and white sand to the north and east and a beautiful blue lagoon on the island of Comino and a large golden sandy beach on the island of Gozo. Beds and umbrellas are obtainable on all the beaches and the house is well equipped with picnic things. There are lovely walks all round. Boats of all sorts can be hired. Riding,sailing and diving are available.
Golf
Golf is approximately 15 mins drive away. It is a very attractive and quite a demanding 18 hole course, par 68. A round would take approximately 3-4 hours. www.royalmaltagolfclub.com. There is a good pro's shop and an excellent German pro. Clubs and trolleys can be hired.

Travel
The airport is about 7kms away and so is the harbour that the catamaran arrives at from Sicily. The Gozo and Comino ferries are about 14kms away. Car hire is easy and so are taxis if you don't want to drive. They are just outside the gates of Mdina or an individual driver can be organised. It is easier to go to Valletta by bus because you avoid the parking problems and the congestion charge.
Distances
Being in the centre of the island nothing is too far. The nearest town to Mdina is Rabat which is just outside the city walls. Here you will find all necessities like fruit and vegetables, the chemist, the baker, the deli, fresh coffee and spices, the butcher.
Further details
A converted Palazzo called Xara Palace is a very upmarket hotel with an excellent restaurant called the Mondion and a friendly, informal Trattoria on the piazza. Fontanella, on the bastion wall, with some of the best views in Malta serves chocolate cake to die for. There are several other attractive places to eat and visit to suit all pockets including The Medina which has a very pretty courtyard for eating in during the warmer months. Mdina is bordered by a lovely garden on the Rabat side which makes a pleasant nearby stroll. It is adjacent to Rabat which has mini markets, shops, chemists, doctors and old catacombs and war shelters to visit including St. Paul's abode whilst in Malta. There is a small museum /Roman villa and 4 other museums that can be visited. People are very friendly and happy to help. In Mdina there is an ATM 100 yards away and HSBC bank just a 10 min walk outside the moat and main gate.

Set days in the high season (July to end Sept.) At other times book to suit. 10% deposit with booking confirmation. Total amount 4 weeks before arrival. Payment can be in euros or GB pounds.
