A delightful house of character featuring exposed limestone walls (tal-Franka) with vaulted ceilings, an open-plan kitchen dining room resembling a catacomb; an internal open air courtyard for those hot summer nights and a delightful roof terrace.

APrices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Discount of 7.5% applies to bookings for 2 weeks and over.
Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday when we ask you to vacate by 10am. The house will be available from 4pm. There is flexibility on the changeover day dependant on flights and other reservations - please enquire.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed. Contains wrought iron spiral staircase to roof terrace. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Access to sitting room. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans. |
| Bathrooms: | The main bathroom is on the ground floor with a full size bath with shower unit over, WC and sink. Upstairs there is a WC and sink. |
| Kitchen: | The fully equipped kitchen features an electric cooker with hob and oven, fridge/freezer, pine cupboards, stainless steel sink, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery and fire blanket / extinguisher. The dining room seats 4. |
| Utility Room: | Cleaning materials - mop/bucket, brushes, vaccuum cleaner and detergents. |
| Living Rooms: | Situated upstairs with coffee table, wicker sofa and two wicker armchairs. Ventilation is provided through a glass lightwell and ceiling fan. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Towels and linen are provided each week. A maid cleans once per week and changes bedding for no charge. If additional cleaning is required or is necessary a charge of 30 euros is made. |
Notes on accommodation
Whilst the climate is mild during winter, we do provide mobile radiators and blankets should you feel the need. We regret that children under 5 are not permitted nor may additional people stay other than the booking party. Gozo House is non-smoking.

Accessibility
The bedrooms are situated upstairs reached via a stoned flagged staircase. The main bathroom is downstairs but there is a WC and sink on the first floor adjacent to the bedrooms.
Outside
There is an open air courtyard on the ground floor next to the kitchen providing for alfresco dining. It is partly covered by an arched ceiling. On the second floor is the private roof terrace accessed via a wrought iron staircase situated in the master bedroom. There are views towards Gelmus Hill where fireworks are set off regularly during fiestas. The peal of bells from St George's Basilica and St Sabina's church vie for your attention. A perfect way to relax and unwind after a day's sightseeing or to start the day with a leisurely breakfast.
Coast/Beach
The central location of Victoria means that all beaches are accessible, the nearest is Xlendi 2.5 miles to the south west. Xlendi maintains its appeal as a fishing village with some lovely seaside restaurants and a cobble beach. A walk round the hillptop provides lovey views of the harbour. The main beach on Gozo is Ramla Bay some 4 miles to the north east of Victoria which remains un-commercialised. The main resort is Marsalforn 3.5 miles north of the capital whilst San Blas offers a small cove
Travel
A bus no 45 operates from Malta International Airport to Cirkewwa which takes about 1 hour. From there the ferry (crossing takes 25 mins) runs to Mgarr and a bus no 25 goes to Valletta. This takes about 20 mins. Alternatively a car may be hired at the airport or we may arrange a transfer for you.
Distances
The Citadel is within walking distance between 5-10 mins away. Due east 2 miles are the Ggantija Prehistoric temples at Xaghra - the oldest free-standing stone building known to man. Just outside the village is the Ta' Kola Windmill built in the 18th century. Calypso's cave is 1.5 miles from Xaghra and is reputed to be where Odysseus met Calypso. Dwerja has the Azure Window and is the hot spot for diving and also found here is Fungus Rock. Gharb is a pretty village with a beautiful church.
Further details
Victoria has some good bars and restaurants set around Independence Square - the classic Cafe Jubilee is a great all rounder with a good menu and selection of wines and beers. Bellusa cafe is fine for a coffee to watch the busy market in the square and some people watching. Or try the Grapes overlooking St George's Square in front of the Basilica. Most of the shops line Republic Street where HSBC Bank and Bank of Valletta are found as is the Post Office and the two theatres - the Astra and Aurora. Each puts on a variety of productions featuring drama, ballet and classical music. The Citadel theatre houses a cinema showing the main Hollywood films.
A modern shopping centre, Arkadia lies about 1/2 mile from the house on Republic Street. This contains a complex of shops with a supermarket on the lower floor, internet cafe and clothes shops on the ground and first floor with furniture/household items on the second floor. Virtually opposite are the Rundle Gardens that provides an oasis of calm and opportunity of shade from the midday sun.
All roads lead to Victoria and the bus terminus is off Putirjal street. Fares are very reasonable but the last return bus to Victoria is early evening. However taxis are plentiful and may be found at the bus terminus.
Booking notes
Gozo House may be booked for a minimum period of 1 week. On making a reservation, a deposit of £150 is payable at least 4 weeks before the start date. The booking is not confirmed until receipt of the deposit and cleared payment. Funds may be paid by bank transfer or by cheque. Our cancellation policy is to refund in full provided we are given at least 4 weeks' notice otherwise the full payment for the stay is payable.
