Villa Miradouro is located in Faja da Ovelha-Calheta south west coast of the Island, an area blessed with stunning unspoilt countryside, bird wild life (binoculars recommended) and quaint villages 'Paul and Jardim do Mar', it is a mere 15 minutes drive from the seaside resort of Calheta. The Villa is south facing with excellent exposure to the sunshine, offering spectacular panoramic views of a lighthouse, countryside, coastline and incredible sunset views. Guaranteed absolute tranquillity and relaxation. Completely renovated in 2004 in modern style with rustic features, tastefully furnished to a high standard. The villa benefits from a swimming pool 10m x 5m with a heated shower, built-in BBQ with a large patio lit up for open-air dining. With an open-plan layout, the villa is spacious and offers maximum natural light, it also offers a furnished veranda and breakfast room both overlooking the sea.

Notes on prices
Rental rates are for 2 persons. For the 3rd and 4th person it is £80 per person.
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Minimum stay is 7 Nights however we will accomodate shorter stays at discounted rates whenever there are odd days available in between already booked dates.

Changeover day
Monday is our preferred changeover day. Accommodation available from 3pm on the day of arrival to 12am on the day of departure, however, we will always try to work around this for you.

Notes on accommodation
Pets not allowed, children welcome, non smoking only, long term renters welcome.

Due to the pool and verandas for safety reasons we recommend parental supervision at all times where young children are concerned. Wireless ADSL Broadband is available at 15 euros per week payable at the villa to our representative. Hairdryer is provided, however, we request that guests provide beach towels for the sun beds. Please bring your own DVDs, CDs. For bird life and sea life enthusiasts we recommend our guests to pack a pair of binoculars.

Golf
Madeira is a golfers paradise because it’s subtropical climate guarantees all year round blue skies and stunning views over the ocean, steep cliffs and most of all, great golf courses. There are 2 excellent golf courses on Madeira, the Santo da Serra Golf Club and Palheiro Golf Club.

The capital of the island is Funchal, a very attractive and contemporary town, has numerous restaurants and bars, nightclubs, large marina, excellent variety of individual International shops, several very interesting museums.

Skiing
For nature lovers the Island has lots to offer, with superb vegetation and hundreds of subtropical plant species. Parts of the Western side of the island has been pronounced a World Heritage protected site and is well worth exploring especially on foot. Madeira’s system of irrigation channels, known as levadas, carry water down from the mountains on gentle gradients providing a ready-made system of trails very popular with visitors who can follow long trails along the islands water courses, altogether 1300 miles from easy to very extreme level.

For those who are interested in knowing how the White Rum and Black Honey Cake are made, we recommend a tour of the ‘Engenho da Calheta’ the rum distillery where you can wander around and sample / purchase the produce.

Centro das Artes Casa da Mudas is a new fantastic art centre located at the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea.

Special interest holidays
Local activities include diving, surfing, swimming, walking, sailing, fishing, windsurfing, waterskiing, paragliding.

For bird life and sea life enthusiasts, we recommend our guests to pack a pair of binoculars.
Dining room has a log fire for the winter season and additional oil filled radiators throughout. There is also a window seating area in the dining room looking out onto the entrance garden. By the pool side there is a heated shower.
Outside of the barbecue there is a large lit patio with dining area for 8.
The villa is fitted with an alarm system and electric remote control gates.
The garden area consists of over 1400sq.m and is illuminated throughout.
Although the property consists of two floors, only the first floor is available for rental as the the ground floor is being used for storage.

Nearest ferry port: Funchal at 38 kilometres.

The villa stands at 50 minutes drive from the airport using express roads and finally through villages with sea view. Express roads with tunnels through mountains and bridges altogether with the recent construction of several new marinas along the coast has increased the popularity of the west side of the island. There are some popular restaurants / bars, mini market and a Bank with ATM nearby with a wider choice in Calheta. The city of Funchal (capital) offers entertaining nightlife, traditional / modern dining and shopping experience in newly built Malls.

A garden in serene order to sit back and take in the atmosphere, forget everything when exploring the views of rolling green countryside in its breathtaking surroundings. Terrace views - lose yourself in imagination whilst snoozing on a hammock with tranquillity and sea view like no other, it really is the Atlantic Jewel. The privacy of the terrace and rear garden selfishly gives you this uniqueness all to one self. Dining alfresco is the perfect way to dine on your holiday, with a traditional local wood burning oven giving an authentic touch with all amenities to hand. A sitting area within the hut spills out onto open patio looking out to the garden and infinity sea view. Sunset is a major feature at this villa. The exclusiveness of this property shares this view with no other and is truly breathtaking. This with a chilled bottle of Portuguese Rose will add the romance to the atmosphere, be sure to capture these moments in your photos.

An appointed representative will meet and greet you on arrival (or at airport for a fee) to familiarise with the villa and surrounding area, she will be available should you have any difficulties.

Booking notes
Rental rates are for 2 persons. For 3rd and 4th person it is £80per person. A 30% non-refundable deposit must accompany all bookings to obtain confirmation. Balance of rental is payable 8 weeks before arrival date; further information will be given in our contract. A refundable deposit of £150 is required for damages, breakages, keys and remote control. We recommend our guests to take out travel insurance.

Beautiful Villa Miradouro

We had a wonderful time at the villa. It was so relaxing and peaceful. Nobody around to spoil the quietness apart from the two resident cats who were a pleasure to have around.
We have been to Madeira many times before but stayed in the tourist area of Funchal. We wanted to know what it would be like to live in a rural area as we want to retire there and it has certainly made our minds up that we will be making our move there. The villa was kept immaculate by Maria the housekeeper. Nothing was a problem to her.
We have already reccommended the property to friends who have booked in the not to distant future.
It is our first time staying at a villa and certainly won't be the last, although we feel that we may have difficulty finding another so stunning.
Thank you to the owner for all his professionalism thoughtout.
We hope to stay at Villa Miradouro again.
