The Casa da Madeira is a one bedroom house in the garden below the pool of the main house (Casa da Pedra). It offers comfortable accommodation for a couple, with lovely views over the sea and surrounding hills. The house is made entirely from wood, hence the name (Madeira is Portuguese for wood).

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros.
If guests arrive or leave the house after 6pm our representative will charge an extra 30 euros for the out of hours check in/out.
Changeover day
Change over is usually on a Monday on Madeira; there are more flights but they can be more expensive. So we are flexible about changeover days, especially for bookings of two weeks and over.
Accommodation

| Kitchen: | The house has a kitchen area with a hob, fridge, sink unit and cupboards. For outdoor cooking there is a barbeque. |

The house is serviced weekly, with full linen and towels (including pool towels). |

Accessibility
Access to the house involves some very steep steps, so is unsuitable for anyone with mobility problems.
Outside
The house is in the garden which is planted with fruit trees. Guests can use the swimming pool which is 8m x 5m. There is a barbeque.
Coast/Beach
The beach at Calheta is the only beach on the island (it's artificial!). It's about 10 minutes drive away. As well as the beach, there are restaurants and boating.
Travel
The airport at Funchal is about 45 minutes drive. Car hire is recommended, but some of our guests have managed without. There are local buses and taxis. The house is within walking distance of local shops.
Distances
Central Funchal is about half an hours drive.
Booking notes
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking. This is not refundable. The balance is due at least six weeks before your holiday starts. Payment is by bank transfer to our Portuguese bank. Some guests prefer to make the full payment to reduce bank charges. Our agent Ezekiel takes a €100 deposit to cover breakages.
