In the heart of the Monte region, the centre being only a 5 mins walk from the apartment, making it an ideal location for walkers or people wanting a relaxing holiday. The elevated position of the apartment gives a feeling of privacy from its neighbours and offers spectacular views across Funchal bay to the front and Monte and its gardens, church etc to the side. The centre of Funchal with its restaurants, theatre, marina, shopping and cultural sights is only 10 minutes by car. Bus stops are just outside the apartment giving easy access to the whole of the island. Entrance to the apartment is through a meandering stone staircase taking you through lush, semi-tropical gardens, with outside lighting, leading to the patio areas and the doors into the apartment. The bedrooms open onto the front terrace with its spectacular views.

Accessibility
Apartment is accessed through a meandering stepped pathway through the gardens, and is therefore not suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
Barbecue area: access from the patio via a staircase to the sheltered barbecue area on the 3rd level. Wood burning built-in barbecue, plus a full size gas range cooker, sink, storage cupboards and seating provides a perfect location for outside cooking and dining. Again, the area looks across the gardens with views of Funchal and Monte.
Coast/Beach
Funchal town, lido and harbour are a 10 mins drive or 15 mins by cable car from Monte. The beautiful coastal regions of Santa Cruz, Machico, Camara de Lobos can be reached within 30-45 mins via the expressway. Madeira is a beautiful island, renowned for its flora and fauna. There are numerous panoramic viewing points throughout the region making every journey a pleasure.
Golf
There are 2 championship golf courses, both within easy reach by car and both have spectacular views throughout the courses. Palheiro Golf 18 hole course is approx 20 mins drive. Santo da Serra golf is home to the Madeira Open and is approx 45 mins drive. 36 holes. Both have practice range, buggy and trolley hire, pro shop, clubhouse and restaurant.

Funchal is famous for its spectacular firework displays, which can be viewed from the terraces. The apartment is surrounded by forests and there are numerous panoramic sites, gardens and places of interest within 5 minute walk of the apartment.

Distances
Monte is a popular visitor attraction and within easy walk of the apartment. Monte is famous for its gardens, church, cable cars and tobaggons. Monte church is lit up at night and can be seen from the apartment terraces. Imperial Gardens entrance is a few yards away from the apartment. Pico dos Barcelos is just 10/15 minutes, offering spectacular day and evening views across the region. Pico dos Torres is the highest point of the Island, approx 15km drive.
Further details
Bus stops are right outside the entrance to the apartment. Monte cable cars are within a few minutes walk and can be taken down into the heart of Funchal town. There are several restaurants within an easy walk or drive. Madeira Shopping Centre is within a 10 minutes drive. Funchal Town with markets, shops, restaurants also within 10 minutes.
