Notes on accommodation
We don't have facilities for babies and infants and regretfully, only accept children over 10 years. There is no air conditioning (although fans are provided) as there is always a lovely breeze on the 4th floor. The apartment is all on one level so is suitable for the elderly.

Outside
The swimming pool is set in delightful gardens with a sunbathing terrace which overlooks the sea and promenade below. Sun loungers and parasols are provided for the use of guests and residents of Quinta da Falesia.
Coast/Beach
There are 3 swim parks (lidos) within walking distance where you can enjoy sea water pools with lifeguards in attendance. The beach nearest to the apartment is Praia Formosa, about 15 mins walk away. There is also a charming stony beach in the old town in Funchal.

Santo da Serra - 3x9 holes (27 holes). Palheiro -18 holes
Travel
Funchal airport is about 24 km from the apartment. Travel time by car is approximately 20-25 mins. It is not essential to hire a car as cabs and buses are frequent and cheap. Excursions are the best way to tour this beautiful island.
Distances

Further details
Levada walking is one of the highlights of visiting Madeira as is a visit to Nun's Valley. The Botanical Gardens, Monte Palace are a must for gardening enthusiasts. Take tea at Reids, gamble at the Casino, and visit the Opera House. I usually send guests a list of places to visit, things to do prior to departure. Again vist my website for more ideas.
