The property is situated 1km/10 minutes walking from the cathedral, which is the heart of Funchal capital, and 2km from the tourist area called Lido with swimming pools and sea access. You have the chance to eat your meals outside in the balcony. From the living/dining room you can contemplate the panorama overlooking the sea, the cliffs overlooking the East side of Funchal. On the roof terrace of the building there is a fabulous view surrounding from the mountains to the sea. There is the possibility on new years eve to watch from the roof terrace the best fireworks display in the whole world. Simply unforgettable.

Notes on accommodation
Marble floors in the kitchen and bathroom, timber floors in the rest of the house. The apartment is on the fourth floor and there is 2 lifts, but actually counting from the road level it is in the sixth floor. The apartment has 100 square meters,therefore you can imagine how spacious is each single division of the house, large lounge/dinning room, big bedrooms, spacious kitchen, good measures for the bathroom and the balcony has allmost the whole length of the apartment. There is as well a terrace of soil at the full extension of the balcony edge where we have herbal plants to be used in the kitchen and fresh strawberries all year round to pick. During the whole day there is allways brightness all over the apartment, a bit less in the bathroom. An advantage also for our guests is that we also live in the same building as them.
Accessibility
For wheelchair users there are ramps from the road to the entry of the building and 2 lifts inside. The apartment is totally flat, but the bathroom is not adapted for handicapped people.
Outside
Private condominium gardens with benches.
There is a parking space allocated in the garage in the case that our guests hire a car, so that this way you do not have to worry with finding a parking space for your car.
Coast/Beach
Property distance to the sea is only 400 meters. From the port towards Lido area (2km) you will find plenty of hotels with swimming pools and direct access to the sea. Towards the old town there is the municipal swimming pools and sea access, 25 minutes walking. In the Lido area you will find the famous complex of swimming pools and sea access only 2km, 20 minutes walking. Plenty to choose from.
Golf
Madeira has 2 spectacular golf courses not so far from Funchal city. Due to our excellent mild climate all year round you can play anytime. Porto Santo sister island has an other golf course.
Special interest holidays
To discover Madeira at its best we can recommend you some guided island tours, mountain or levada walks, boat trips, cable car journeys, visit to gardens, wine lodges, etc.
Travel
The connection from and to Madeira only airport will take you approximately between 20 to 30 minutes to the apartment driving, since there is a motorway straight all the way.
A low cost Transfer can be arranged for you each via on request.
Rent-a-car it is really not necessary.
Distances
The distances that we quote are in fact very reliable, it may seem to you unbelievable but you will be centrally located. Here it is: 150 meters from the Casino dinner shows entertainment; 300 meters from the nearest supermarket, bank, Savoy hotel; 500 meters from the post office, pharmacy; 1km from Reids Palace hotel and taxis station at 350 meters away, plenty of good restaurants and cafés nearby, 200 meters from the park santa catarina and the official residence of our government, etc.
Further details
The location of the apartment makes you be near to everything. You can go to the city center and find all the shops, post office, banks, pharmacies, etc.
Among the highlights of Funchal is the picturesque old town and its excellent restaurants for a romantic evening dinner, the farmers market to show you the variety of fishes, fruits and flowers, wine shops, the cathedral, the cable car, the tobogan ride, catmaran trips to watch dolphins, our rich gardens with a big variety of flora, plenty gardens such as Botanical Gardens, Orchid Gardens, Monte Palace Tropical Gardens etc.
Booking notes
We would like to ask you kindly to make a deposit of 50% of the rental rate to secure your reservation and the remainder is due to be paid up to 6 weeks prior to your arrival. When your booking is made within less that 6 weeksof your arrival, the complete payment is required and it is non-refundable. The deposit can only be reimbursed when the cancellation of the reservation is made until 90 days prior to your arrival, otherwise, there is no place for reimbursement. We recommend travel insurance
