Travel Guide for Jaipur (North India, India)
Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, North India, and one of the region's major tourist attractions. Thousands book holiday accommodation in Jaipur every year, as it's not only part of the Golden Triangle (which includes Delhi and Agra also), but it radiates authentic Indian charm. The colour of Jaipur's beautiful buildings have given it the name of 'Pink City', and there are seemingly endless palaces, temples and monuments to explore. One thing's certain - when you book holiday lettings in Jaipur, you'll have a truly unforgettable experience.
Things to do in Jaipur
The best thing to do once you've settled into villas in Jaipur, is to visit the amazing bazaar. The evening is a particularly good time to go, as the senses awaken to colourful shops, fragrant spices and the constant cries of stallholders. You can pick up almost anything here, be it flowers, fabrics or food, and the friendly locals will be more than happy to sit down to a cup of chai. Another great experience lies at the Raj Mandir Theatre, where Bollywood films are screened every evening. Simply queuing for your ticket is unforgettable - needless to say, a trip here is quite unlike visiting the cinema at home!
Places to see in Jaipur
All of our apartments in Jaipur are centrally-located, so you'll have plenty of things to see on your doorstep. Take a trip to the Amber Fort, an enormous complex which dates back to the 17th century: from the mirrored ceilings of Sheesh Mahal, to the elephants you can ride to the top, it's a wonderful place to spend the day. Conversely, head for the Govind Devji, the second-most important temple to Vaishnavites and followers of Lord Krishna. It's located within the same area as the City Palace, another wonderful example of Rajput architecture. Comprised of vast, sprawling gardens and a range of charming courtyards, the palace accounts for almost a seventh of Jaipur.
