Welcome to our cosy mountain retreat! Perched on the side of the outstandingly beautiful Valle Cannobina, Casa Falmenta occupies the perfect location for the keen walker and relaxer. Situated in an area rich in unspoilt nature, signposted footpaths lead from the cottage to neighbouring villages, gorges, natural pools and mountain peaks. To one side of the house nestles a vine-covered stone table overlooking neighbouring Crealla. Sit in the shade of the palm tree or bask in the sun while listening to the far-off bells of the Campanile. Situated ten minutes from the communal parking area, the walk to the house is like a garden exhibition, passing through the fully pedestrianized village of Falmenta via its medieval centre. It winds up gently cobbled steps and through lush gardens lined with hortensias, roses, waterfalls and gladiolas. Amenities include internet access, satellite-TV and DVD player, washer and dryer, weekly local market, cafe, public transport and one great view!

The access to the property, including the walk, includes paths and stairs. Not ideal for wheelchair users but possible for those with slower walking who are looking for a place in which to exercise.

10 minutes driving or 25 minutes walking to natural swimming pools fed by the River Torrente Cannobina. 20 minutes driving to Lago Maggiore. Excellent swimming waters. Nearest town Cannobio. Nearest designate beach with gardens Cannero Rivera.

Walking paths abound; simply walking in the village is a cultural and bucolic experience! Bicycling and mountain biking.
How to get there
Milan Malpensa 1 3/4 hours drive. Bergamo 2 1/4 hours. Car hire recommended but inexpensive travel is possible by bus, rail, and boat.
Distances
Within 20 minutes of Cannobio, 45 minutes of Santa Maria Maggiore, and one hour of Parco Val Grande, Italy's largest National park. Villages of great interest and small museums in nearby vicinity.
Further Details
It is recommended to stock up on groceries on the way to Casa Falmenta. Charming trattoria and general store in Ponte di Falmenta (7 min by car). Falmenta local market (weekly) with Italian delicacies and most daily staples. We can provide locations, opening hours and connecting public transport timetables upon request.

Deposit is £100; balance is due within six weeks of arrival; if booking within four weeks of arrival, full payment is due.
