Bella Terra is a restored stone farmhouse with pool that has wonderfully spacious, well-proportioned rooms filled with light and enjoying rural views of the surrounding hillsides and the large olive grove belonging to the property. The nearest village is Castel Rigone, perched high above Lake Trasimeno, and towns such as Passignano, Castiglione del Lago, Cortona, Perugia, Siena and Montepulciano are within easy reach. Guests have exclusive use of the entire house and pool in a completely private setting.

Rentals are in euros per week and include all utilities. There is a heating surcharge in low season.
Changeover day
Preference is given to stays of at least 1 week, beginning and ending on Saturday, but if this does not suit, please enquire about the possibility of different arrangements. Discounts are offered for bookings of longer than 2 weeks.

The kitchen, as in times past, is the heart of the house, with a large fireplace that can be used for grilling, a 10-seater dining table and generous bench space. It is equipped with hob, oven, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. |

A large living room that opens directly onto the garden and terrace has a large, comfortable sofa, a divan and a sofa bed with a wood burner for cooler evenings. Also, the bedrooms have sitting areas and desks, providing private space for all guests. |

A DVD player is provided. The ground floor living room includes a kitchenette and bathroom, so it can serve as self-contained quarters, depending on the composition of the group: an additional couple, grandparents, nanny or teenagers. |

Accessibility
The ground floor could serve as self-contained accommodation for guests who have difficulty with stairs. It is a large open-plan space with just two steps down to the bathroom and laundry, and level access onto the grounds.
Outside
The roofed loggia at the entrance to the kitchen/dining room is a shaded and convenient outdoor dining spot within easy reach of the kitchen. Beneath the loggia is the restored original wood burning bread oven, which guests are welcome to use. There is also a large circular stone terrace with views over the 3 hectares of private grounds. The new pool is a generous size at 12x6m and is surrounded by a wide, paved terrace, well-lit for evening use. The water is treated by the most up-to-date saline system. Pool towels are provided and there is plenty of outdoor furniture for use by the pool and on the patio.
Coast/Beach
Various water sports are available at Lake Trasimeno, 15 mins away. Ferries operate from several lakeside towns to the two larger islands on the lake, for hiking, beaches and restaurants.
Golf
The beautiful Antognolla golf course is open to villa guests and is only about 20 minutes from the property.
Travel
The closest airport is Perugia, which is served by Ryanair from London Stansted to Perugia airport, which is only 30 mins from Bella Terra. Other airports, such as Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino, Ancona, Forli, Pisa and Florence, are approximately two hours' drive. Car hire is essential to explore the area.
Distances
The hilltop village of Castel Rigone is 10 mins away and has several restaurants, a food and wine store, pharmacy and bars. The town of Magione is 10 mins away and has a full range of shops, banks and other services. The Perugia - Siena link road is quickly reached and provides easy access to those cities, Assisi, Spoleto, Deruta, Castiglione del Lago and the A1 to Rome and Florence.
