Casa Lilla is a beautiful 19th century 3 storey town villa built onto the old town walls of Acquasparta, a small Umbrian hill town (not touristy) which is very close to the well known towns of Todi, Spoleto, Perugia, Assisi and Orvieto. Our aim when renovating Casa Lilla was to create comfortable, relaxing, enjoyable accommodation for the discerning tourist. The complete ground floor is a self contained 2 bedroom apartment. The apartment has a small private garden and paved patio. We strive to provide everything that you could possibly need for a holiday stay, the kitchen is very well equipped, the bathrooms are all fully tiled and all have double size power showers, the mattresses are thick and luxurious and best quality linens. There is a large selection of books, DVD's, games and music. There is safe, free on street parking directly outside Casa Lilla and we have a baby cot, high-chair, baby bath, stroller, kids toys and books.

Accessibility
Sorry, but Casa Lilla is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Together with the apartment you have the use of the walled garden and patio located just off the dining room. There is a table and chairs and we can supply a BBQ. Casa Lilla is in the town of Acquasparta and it is only a few minutes walk to shops, restaurants, bars and cafés, the pub is only a few minutes walk away too. There is parking outside on the road and it is very safe. The communal pool complex is 15 mins walk or 5 mins drive from Casa Lilla and is open from June to end of August and there is a charge for entry.
Coast/Beach
Being in the centre of Italy it is about the same distance to either side and the coast, about a 2 hours drive. You can take a drive to one or two of the large lakes close by, Lago Trasimeno just past Perugia to the north or Lago Bolsena to the south, both about an hour and half drive. Cittavecchia is a small coastal town and beach outside Rome, about an 1 hour 15 mins drive.
Golf
There are 2 golf clubs within driving distance of Casa Lilla, one is in Terni and about 20 mins drive, the other is in Perugia, about 40min drive.
Special interest holidays
Casa Lilla is perfectly situated in southern Umbria and is a great base for exploring the popular towns and cities of Umbria, such as Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Spoleto, Todi, etc. Acquasparta is a quiet little town, it is very safe, we have never heard of any crimes, people leave their front doors open, cars unlocked, etc. The locals are all very friendly and although they have a tendency to stare, actually this is an Italian habit not only in acquasparta we have always found them very helpful and welcoming. You will not find anyone that speaks English in the town, very few people outside the major cities have English, especially the older folk, the best thing is just to try and communicate, even if all you know is 'grazie' and 'buongiorno! ' we feel this is one of many things that makes acquasparta special, your will have a real Italian experience.
Travel
Casa Lilla is very easy to get to. From either of Rome's two airports Fiumicino (Leonardo DaVinci Int.) or Ciampino, Casa Lilla is just over an hours drive (100km) from Rome or 55 mins by train to Terni. Ciampino is served by the low cost carriers such as easyjet and ryanair. Ryanair have direct flights from Stansted airport in England to Perugia in Umbria, which is only 40 mins away by car. It is not necessary to hire a car for your visit as Acquasparta has a local train station.
Distances
Acquasparta, a small town of population approx. 5000 is situated very close to the better known towns of Todi, Spoleto, Orvieto and Terni, to name but a few. It is a vibrant, alive town with a good range of restaurants, bars, cafés, shops and even a pub, it also a good mix of age groups and families. Todi, Spoleto & Terni are all 20km (15/20min drive) Perugia is 40km (30 min drive) Assisi is 60km, Orvieto is 50km, Rome is 100km (1 hour by train and easy to do as a day trip) Trevi is 30km.
Further details
Casa Lilla is built onto the old town walls of Acquasparta and it is only a few minutes walk up through the old town alleys into the 'centro storica' the historic centre of Acquasparta. There you will find lots of shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and there is even a pub which is unusual for small Italian towns. Casa Lilla is a perfect base for exploring this wonderful region of Italy and all the wonderful cities, towns and villages of Umbria can be easily reached for day trips. It is also very easy to take the train to Rome for a day trip, it is only 50mins on the Eurostar and is very cheap, a great way to see the sights of Rome without the hassle of having to stay there.
Places to Eat & Drink.
Agritourismo LA Fontana, it is in a tiny town in the mountains called Macerino, about 25min drive away past Portaria, a bit of a hike but well worth it. They have no menu, and you must book. We are avid cooks and lovers of Italian food, I can honestly say that the food here is the best traditional rustic Umbrian food we have had, and we have tried lots! Be Hungry and expect to be there for about 4 hours! You will be served multiple antipasto dishes, multiple pasta dishes, multiple meat dishes, vegetables, and salad, multiple deserts, wine, water, coffee and liquors. All prepared with local produce, their speciality is truffles, and by God they know how to use them, in pasta and antipasto. It is a set price per person; I don’t know how they do it but it is only €25.00 a head. If you want to experience the best in rustic Umbrian fare I urge you to give it a try.
In Acquasparta Grotta Rosa offers a large variety of local Umbrian and Napolitano dishes. The restaurant has been refurbished in 2010 and is open for both lunch and dinner. They serve local pasta such as picchiarelli and fire grilled meats.

We require a booking deposit of 30% of total cost of booking. Payment in full when you arrive in cash. We can accept Credit cards but have a 5% surcharge on credit card payments.
