Torre is a stone tower with three-bedrooms. It is on five levels. Built into the hillside, there are two ground floors. On the lower level there is a small, fully equipped kitchen with a door to a small patio area. Stairs lead up to a living/dining room with a fireplace and a door to the garden area with a table and chairs for dining al fresco. Steep stone steps lead up to the bedrooms.

Notes on prices
Rates include water, electricity, bedroom linens, bathroom and kitchen towels, firewood and final cleaning. GAS: In the summer the costs for gas usage are at a fixed rate: Euro 40,00 per week. This can be paid in cash at the house.The costs for central heating, when needed, are extra and depend on the amount of gas used, which is metered upon arrival and departure. Extra bed Euro 70 per week. Baby cot and high chair for free.

Every week we offer COOKERY COURSES for adults and children, whose subjects are:
1- PASTE EMILIANE: how to make hand made egg-pasta; Tagliatelle, Lasagne and Tortelloni with Bolognese sauce seasoning and more.
2- BOLOGNESE MENU: a complete 4-dishes bolognese traditional dinner : Lasagne or Tortellini, a meat dish, a side dish with seasons vegetables and a dessert.
3- PRIMI PIATTI ITALIANI: how to make different types of « primi piatti »: Gnocchi, Risotto and Pasta, following recipes from many italian regions.
4- PIZZA and FOCACCIA: how to realize the traditional Pizza and Focaccia.
The cookery courses are designed for enthusiastic amateurs, gourmets and anyone who appreciates food, wine and cooking. The participants will be executing the dishes and will taste them at the end of the course together in a friendly and familiar atmosphere.

SUPERMARKETS in Zocca : CONAD is at the end of the village coming from Montombraro, after the gas station on the right. There is also 3MG Market, located in the centre, as you come in Zocca turn right toward the Pharmacy, then left and the stop straight ahead on the slope that leads to a parking area : the market is in the right corner of the place.
INTERNET FACILITY : at the end of the village, turn left to the swimming pool, you will immediately see a parking area, on the left of which there is the entrance to their office, called MULTIMEDIA CENTRE.
RESTAURANTS IN MONTOMBRARO :
1. SAN CARLO on the right corner opposite the church square, very good hand made pastas and grilled meat for a nice price.
2. LA CASCINA DELLE ROSE driving to Zocca, just outside Montombraro, on the right :panoramic terrace, good food and wonderful wines.
3. ODISSEA : from the church square straight ahead until you see it on your left : very good « crescentine and tigelle », typical mountaind breads served with salami, ham and cheese.
4. KING BAR : driving to Zocca, just outside Montombraro on the right, very good « crescentine and tigelle », typical mountaind breads served with salami, ham and cheese.
5. PIZZERIA at the swimming pool : nice space outside, good pizzas also to take away.
RESTAURANTS IN ZOCCA:
1. OSTERIA DEL SOLE : restaurant in the centre of Zocca, extremely good food and wines in a panoramic spot. It is in the centre, as you drive through Zocca, located in the new buildings on the left, you have to go down a short slope.
2. PANORAMIC : before coming to Zocca, on your right, old fashioned hotel with a panoramic restaurant that serve traditional dishes.

Dear Silvia and Riccarda,
We stayed at Tower in May 2006 and enjoyed our stay very, very much and wanted to let you know how much we liked it.
The building itself is wonderful, you made a great job on the restoration, the interior is very nicely furnished and decorated, the setting and the environment are great. And we have been lucky with the weather, too. It was a big advantage that the village itself was within walking distance from Torre. The fact there are some shops (bakery, grocery, salumi) is very convenient. For us it was a pleasant morning stroll to fetch bread and food for breakfast (or aperitif in the evening) and have our first cappuccino there on the bar terrace. Same thing for the restaurants in the village: we didn't need to take the car with somebody having to drive and cutting on the wine. Especially dinner at that farm just around the corner was a real surprise.
All maps and touristy brochures in the house were very handy.

Born in Bologna in 1973, I have a university degree in foreign languages and literature's. I work at the Agrotourism "I Fontanini" since its opening in 2003, where I manage the customers, the advertising and the public relations.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Bologna and Modena 1 hour far away, mountain views, fresh air, pleasant climate both in the summer and in the winter, the quietness, the wild nature, the singing birds, the excellent food and wines, the friendly people in the village. Village fairs, excursions and plenty of activities organized from May until November. Montombraro famous swimming pool and the Parco dei Sassi di Roccamalatina.
Unique benefits of the property
Living in a 16th Century tower is a must experience. The higher you go, the more you leave daily reality back. Here you sleep close by the owl and the wild birds that populate the higher branches of the ancient oak tree, that is just outside your back windows. Whilst on the front, you enjoy small landscape paintings from every window. There are two panoramic terraces: one outside the kitchen , where it is pleasure having breakfast in the morning and dinner at sunset. The terrace outside the living room is perfect for having lunch and then relaxing on the deck chairs in the afternoon.
