3 bedroom, 2 bathroom authentic townhouse, located in the historic centre of Penne in Abruzzo, with its cobbled streets and medieval architecture. The house boasts beautiful views of hilltop monasteries and the Appenine mountains from the 2 balconies. The house is fully equipped with everything to make your stay very comfortable from linen & towels to DVD player. The town offers restaurants, shops, bars, supermarkets, banks, museums, cathedral and all only 2.5 hours from Rome. This is a taste of authentic, untouched Italy.

Notes on accommodation
The house is traditional in architecture but has been refurbished and furnished to a modern standard, suiting all tastes. Its amenities allows a comfortable stay and its shutters provide a cool environment in the summer. The balcony may not be suitable for very small children. Downstairs bedroom accessible by wheelchair, however there is 1 step into the house.
Outside
The 2 balconies provide truly stunning views of the surrounding countryside and Gran Sasso mountains. Chairs are provided for guests to enjoy a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The local hotel Vestini has an outdoor pool non guests can use for a small fee. Including loungers and parasols. Drinks can be bought at the hotel bar which also offers a good menu. This is 5 minutes walk from the house.
Coast/Beach
The Adriatic coast offers many beautiful beaches. A 35 minute drive takes you to Montesilvao with its thriving beaches. However, a slightly longer drive of 45 minutes takes you to Pineto, which has a lovely beach and offers many restaurants to enjoy the local cuisine in peaceful surroundings.
Golf
Golf coures within an hour of Penne.
Special interest holidays
The location of the house means that in the summer season the local region is popular with walkers and also climbers and mountain bikers. The beaches offer water sports at Pescara and Montesilvano and Pescara's newly redeveloped marina offers boat hire and chartering. You can even go paragliding with a centre located on the outskirts of Penne!
Travel
The nearest airport to Penne is Pescara at 45 minutes away by car; providing Ryanair flights from London Standsted at reasonable prices, however, the drive from Rome is a beautiful one through the mountains. The 2.5 hour drive on the autostrada may be more suitable for some due to the numerous international airports serving Rome. Car hire is not essential due to public transport but is highly recommended to make the most of your stay.
Distances
The houses location in Penne means that you are never more than 5minutes walk away from its many amenities. There are numerous local towns and places to visit, and none of them more than 30 minutes drive away The city's of Pescara and Chieti can be reached in 40 minutes by car.

The welcome book gives numerous recommendations from previous guests of places to eat and visit etc. We have also provided a comprehensive list of restaurants, shops, activities and places of interest to help you plan your holiday and make the most of the region. Penne is made up of many small local shops including Pasticceria for those who enjoy cakes, well stocked butchers selling local produce and numerous boutiques and jewellers to enjoy, also 2 supermarkets.
Booking notes
Booking enquiries to be made direct to the owner by phone or e-mail. Booking in advance of 30 days before departure must pay a 30% deposit on booking. Those made within 30 days of departure must pay the full amount. A deposit of £100 for any damage to the house or its contents should be sent on booking and will be returned within 5 days of departure subject to house inspection.
