Casa Clara is near to the main road and shops, but is in a quite area. From the upper apartments you look down directly on the village, with a nice view of the mountains and only 1km to the lake. The apartments are furnished with care and are most comfortable. Lake Como is one of the most popular lakes south of the AlpsThe mountains for hiking in summer and skiing in winter, charming old villages, historical monuments and lovely gardens on the lake side in private villas now open to the public (Villa Carlotta, Villa Melzi).

Notes on prices
The price includes: Gas for warm water and cooking, electricity, and hand and bed linens. Not included: final clean 60 euros. Heating will be calculated. Refundable breakage deposit: 150 euros. Booking: Apartments are generally rented by the week, but will consider less days. Payments: 40% at the time of booking and balance due within 1 month of arrival.

Outside
At 15 min distance are two swimming pools ( summer) and tennis court and extensive cycle tracks wind through the fields and along the lake.
There are various cycling tracks, a green zone for walks and an exercise-trail. There are windsurf, sailing, and water-ski schools in Domaso, which (2 km) away. On the Pian di Spagna (10 km) there is a horse-riding centre. In Menaggio (15 km) there is an 18 hole Golf course. Possibility of excursions in boat to Bellagio, Piona, Varenna, Como, etc... Crisscrossing the lake gives you a beautiful view of the private villa's and parks.
During the day you can do a lot of things: hiking in the mountains (there are many hiking tracks), discover historical sites,sport (sailing, golf, windsurf, horse riding, climbing), shopping, have a rest in one of the many coffee shops for a cappuccino or an ice cream.
Coast/Beach
House Clara is 800 metres from the beach. Nearest ferry port 2km.
Golf
In Menaggio (15km) there is an 18-hole course founded in 1907. This is the oldest golf course in Italy. Lanzo golf course (30km) has 9 holes in Val D'Intelvi up in the hills at 600m altitude. There is also a course in Lugano 40km, & in Como 46km.
Skiing
Famous winter sport resorts such as St. Moritz, Madesimo and Bormio are at 90 minutes by car. In two hours you can reach the Gotthard mountain region, Splugen or San Bernardino. Locals tend to go on a day-outing for skiing and hiking, for lovely walks in the snow and sledding, in the valleys behind Gravedona.

Casa Clara is on Lake Como in the region of Lombardy, near the Swiss border and north of Milan. The lake is one of the most beautiful Italian Lakes. It is situated in a basin surrounded by mountains, and offers quite a varied landscape, with colourful scenery and surroundings all year round. The largest town on the south-west coast is Como, with historical monuments, and wonderful shops for that special purchase of Italian fashion with weekly markets where you can find everything from designer shoes and bags to pots and pans. The old Roman road passes throughCernobbio (Villa D'Este), Menaggio (golf course) past Isola Comacina (the only island in the lake) and leads up to Gravedona and then up into Switzerland and Austria.
Travel
By car through Switzerland Gotthard tunnel, Lugano, Italian border, Menaggio, Gravedona, or through Switzerland Splugen pass, Chiavenna, Gravedona.
The apartments are just 100 Km far from Milano Malpensa / Linate airport , budget flights arrive at Milano or Bergamo airport. All these airports have the main car hire companies, and bus connections to lake Como.

Further details
Gravedona is in the northern area of Lake Como, and is an area full of history and natural attractions.
There are plenty of leisure activities to meet all one's needs. It is an ideal location to bring the family. A great place for the young, and the young at heart, who enjoy both water and land sports, or for those who enjoy discovering the natural beauty of the lake and all of the surroundings.
Gravedona is situated on the western shore of 'Alto Lario', and is one of the gems of Como Lake.
