Located well off the main road, the rural idyll is only disturbed by the crickets and distant sounds of cow bells and sheep. The immediate area provides miles of tracks to walk and enjoy the countryside while admiring the varied development of Trulli and villas scattered among the acres of olive groves and vineyards. Further afield there is hustle and bustle in the historical towns of the southern Murge region Ostuni, Cisternino, Ceglie Messapica, and Martina Franca - all within about 10km - 20km drive, and further north along the Valle d’Itria are the famous attractions of Locorotondo, Alberobello, Castellane Grotte and many more. The coastline, of pretty harbours and sandy inlets, provides a variety of seaside opportunities and is only a few minutes drive. To the south it is easy to explore the beautiful beaches and hidden corners of the ‘heel’ of Italy, such as Otranto, Porto Cesareo, Gallipoli and Santa Maria di Leuca.

Notes on accommodation
The villa benefits from full central heating and the log fire makes the winter evenings very cosy. In summer guests have the comfort of air conditioning in the bedrooms. Our visitors are welcome to make use of all the home facilities - catch up on washing and ironing, log onto the internet to check emails or book onward journey plus make use of the extensive library of books, DVDs, CDs and games. Towels, bathrobes and flipflops provided for use around the villa - beach towels also available. Breakfast is served on side porch, when it is bathed in the glorious colours of the rising sun and which later in the day provides shady relief and where visitors are welcome to make use of the 'forno' to enjoy the delights of cooking and eating 'al fresco'.
Outside
There are places all around the villa where the loungers or sun chairs can benefit from shade or full sun at all times of the day. The lofty gazebo shelters the ample sized jacuzzi which is cooling in summer but heated for that extra luxury of colder evenings. The roof terrace affords splendid vistas of the surrounding countryside and nearby towns. There is ample parking.
Coast/Beach
The local coastline has several large sandy bays as well as a myriad of smaller inlets and rocky coves. At the height of the summer season there is a wealth of beach bars and restaurants offering local seafood delicacies. During quieter seasons the choice is more restricted but the beaches are also more peaceful.

Brindisi airport 42km. Bari airport 96km. Ostuni Rail Station 10km. We can collect you from the airport but the villa is quite remote, buses are infrequent and car hire is recommended. If you prefer bike hire, we are pleased to offer an airport collection service at an additional charge.

Further details
There are many wonderful restaurants to savour the local delicacies, mainly fish at the coast and inland there is a bias toward meat dishes. Pharmacies, supermarkets and specialist shops abound in all the local towns each of which has a selection of bank cash points. Throughout the year there is the fun to enjoy of the many 'feste' as each town celebrates their patronale days, carnevale and other special events, particularly in Ostuni - such as the Notte di San Giovanni toward the end of June, Ostuni vecchi tempi, the Sagra Popolare in mid August and the Cavalcata di San Oronzo at the end of August, which is a sight not to be missed.
