Self-Catering Cottage (sleeps 4)

At the heart of the Cascina the fully equipped, two-storey apartment /cottage retains much of the original 300 year old structure and has been sympathetically refurbished around original features. Designed for four people, it has two spacious double bedrooms, one includes a large four-poster bed and the other has two single sleigh beds. There is also a bathroom with bath, separate shower cubicle, bidet, sink and WC. The first floor balcony is accessed from the central landing. On the ground floor there is a sitting room with TV/satellite channels and DVD player, cloakroom. Fully appointed kitchen/diner with built-in oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, toaster & kettle. Extensive range of cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery provided.

Suites let on Bed & Breakfast basis

All suites are spacious with high wooden ceilings; most with large French windows that open onto balconies and let the light flood in. Rooms with beautifully styled decoration and dressings, tailor made soft furnishings with splashes of colour using fine Indian silks. Furnished with contemporary four-posters or large sleigh beds, luxurious Egyptian cottons, and the rich tones of solid teak flooring coupled with the stunning Bohemian chandeliers make these rooms very special. Each has an unobtrusive LCD Television with satellite channels and DVD/CD player. Every bathroom is tiled with natural Italian limestone and velvet black slate, they provide the perfect backdrop for the gorgeous chrome ware and sculpted limestone basin, large bath, Rain Shower, bidet and WC. Added luxury with the complimentary in-bathroom product range by Aveda.

Notes on accommodation
Suites are serviced daily and the cottage is serviced at convenient times during a week’s stay.
All accommodations have independant central heating control.
Children are welcome. For very small children Cots and High Chairs are available.
Smoking is not permitted inside or in the grounds.
Sorry, no pets.

Outside
We have a beautiful 12m x 5.5m pool, which is private to the Cascina.
There are 7 hectares of our own vineyards, woods and meadows surrounding the property of what is still a working farm.

Coast/Beach
Just over an hours drive to the Ligurian coast at Genoa where you can travel East or West along the Italian Riviera to Portofino or Savona.

A car is essential, firstly to travel from the airports and then to explore this rural region.

The local market town is Nizza Monferrato 5km away.

Historic towns of Asti and Alba 25-30km.
Wineries everywhere.

Our nearest town Nizza Monferrato contains the full range of shops, banks and cafes/restaurants. Frequent markets in the large Piazza. A train station with a line to Asti and Alessandria.
The owners reside on-site and maintain the property.

My wife and I spent a fabulous week with our daughter at 'La Granica'. The cottage is beautifully furnished and set in beautiful surroundings. It was spotlessly clean and provided all the amenities necessary for a great and very comfortable holiday. We particularly enjoyed using the pool everyday (helped by the 80 degree water temperature), it was noticeably well maintained and was complemented by the poolside furniture, a perfect place for relaxing. We were also extremely impressed by the warm welcome we were given by Mark & Karen and their enthusiastic and helpful manner. They were, at all times, very approachable and friendly and offered some great ideas for places to visit and things to do. We have already been recommending 'La Granica' to our friends and family and would not hesitate to recommend 'La Granica' to anyone else seeking a holiday in the Piedmont area. We will definitely be going back!
