Al Sasso occupies a prime position in the historical Tuscan hillside town of Barga. It offers a large secluded terrace and sunny mature gardens in a quiet cul de sac. A few minutes walk from the medieval 'old town' where the impressive 'Duomo' sits imperiously astride the hilltop. Shops and local restaurants are only a short stroll away. Barga itself boasts a beautiful open air pool (early June until early September) and tennis courts and is an ideal base for exploring the Garfagnana, the historic walled town of Lucca and the coastal resorts on the Tuscan Riviera.

Notes on accommodation
Although property has stunning terrace it is very secure for children with approx 1m high railing around the terrace and the perimeter of the garden. Access is via an electronically operated lockable gate.
Inside there is a small selection of games and children's toys that guests are free to use and there is an ipod docking station that guest can utilise. There is a babies high chair and the cot is a travel type.
The garden has a 12ft trampoline that guests are free to use.

Town of Barga has a number of restaurants, 5 of which are within 5 minutes walk. It is a busy market town with a wide variety of shops, local groceries, cafes and a supermarket. The town is the cultural hub of the surrounding area, with an opera house, a jazz festival, and a number of outdoor feasts, dances and concerts. There is also a modern, well-run open-air swimming pool, which has a bar and café, comfortable deck chairs and a beautiful view. The ‘Old Town’, which dates back to medieval times, is a honeycomb of winding, cobbled alleys and stairways, leading up to a beautiful Cathedral. Barga is on the edge of the mountainous Garfagnana area. Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Siena and the seaside are all within easy reach. There is a train station in the nearby town of Fornaci di Barga. Services are cheap and regular, and connect with the major towns and cities in the region as well as Pisa airport which has its own staion within the terminal.

The house is beautiful - I can totally see why you would want to keep it and location wise within Barga it is perfect, so quiet but just a short walk into town.
