The house is simply but comfortably furnished and is an ideal starting point for experiencing Italian town life, countryside and the seaside. The house stands within the city walls of the medieval town of Fermo, just 30 minutes drive from Ancona. Fermo has a wonderful arcaded piazza and its architecture includes many former palaces of the nobility. Shops and restaurants can be reached on foot whilst the sea is only a 10 minute drive away.

Changeover day
Saturday to Saturday bookings only in high season, otherwise changeover day is flexible.
Arrival after 1 pm and before 6pm (unless arranged otherwise in advance).

Outside
There is a spectacular roof terrace with table, chairs, two chairs for relaxing and a sun umbrella. There is free car parking space just 20 metres from the house. The centre of Fermo is traffic-free.
Coast/Beach
The beach can be reached by car or public transport in seven to 10 minutes. Long sandy stretches of coastline offer ideal swimming conditions and there are restaurants serving fantastic fish. Porto San Giorgio is a small seaside town with plenty of Italian charm. Slightly further afield, Numana and Sirolo are highly recommended.
Travel
The closest airport, just 50kms away, is Ancona with regular Ryanair flights. They also fly to Forli and Pescara (both 160 kms away). We recommend cheap car hire from www.sixti.de - however there is a direct train connection from Ancona and Pescara to Porto San Giorgio and from the train station a bus takes you to Fermo.
Distances
The house stands within the town walls of Fermo with all amenities. The seaside town of San Giorgio is 6kms away, San Benedetto del Tronto 50kms, Macerata 40kms, the National Park of the Sibilline mountains 40kms, Ascoli Piceno 70kms and Urbino 120kms.
Further details
Fermo has a wealth of restaurants and a great enoteca in the piazza serving marvellous food and wine. There are supermarkets, bakers, butchers, fruit and vegetable markets; all reached on foot in a matter of minutes. In July and August the piazza hosts each Thursday an antique market. During the summer Macerata has a famous open-air opera festival and in Porto San Giorgio there are numerous outdoor performances.
