The farmhouse of Casa Nuova di Barontoli is a red-brick house dating back many hundreds of years. It is all on one floor, looking out on a distant view of mountains to the south, and onto vinyards, olive groves and the garden to the north, east and west. The house is simply but comfortably furnished with a modern kitchen, 3 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It is set in a beautiful garden and has a large private swimming pool with fabulous views over the valley. The house is 10km south of Siena and 1 mile from a village with every kind of shop and several restaurants. The nearest airports are Pisa and Florence.

Changeover day
The changeover day is normally Saturday although this is negotiable. Tenants may arrive after 2pm on the first day and must vacate the property by 10am on the last day of the rental period.

Notes on accommodation
The property is suitable for children. It is the holiday home of the owners and is furnished as a family home. Please note that the property abuts onto a larger house which is occupied by the owner and her grandson who looks after the farm. None of the property has wheelchair access.

Outside
The house is set in a large beautiful garden and is surrounded by about 20 hectares of olive groves and fields, all belonging to the estate. There is a terrace with table, chairs and umbrella for eating outside as well as sun loungers. The swimming pool is 12x6m and is mosaic-lined with a spring board, a wide terracotta surround and a beautiful view across the plain to the wooded mountains. It is backed by a low stone wall and rosemary hedge with flowering shrubs and cypresses at the side. Tenants have sole use of the pool and its normal temperature is 20C in May, rising to over 30C in July and August.
Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is about 1 hour drive but there are hot springs only about 30 mins away.
Golf
There is a golf course about 45 mins drive from the property.
Travel
Pisa and Florence airports are respectively 1 and 3 quarter hours and 1¼ hours drive from the farmhouse.
Distances
The farmhouse is about a 1½ mile from the village of San Rocco a Pilli which has a large variety of shops including an excellent supermarket. Siena is about 15 mins away by car and Florence about 1 hour and 15 mins.
Further details
There are a large number of restaurants within easy reach of the property ranging from a 2 star Michelin restaurant to very cheap but good trattorie.
Booking notes
An initial deposit of 50% of the total rental charge is payable in order to secure the booking. The remaining 50% is payable 10 working days before the start of the rental period.
