I am an artist who is a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolors in the U.K. We are happy to share our lovingly restored home in Monterchi . My husband and I were entranced with the landscape and environs around the house .

Casale dell'Olivo is our charming stone farmhouse and annex standing in beautiful countryside on a hill above Monterchi,Tuscany. Monterchi is an unspoiled medieval hilltop village on the borders of Umbria and Tuscany, home to Piero's famous fresco "The Madonna del Parto" It is in easy reach of the great artistic cities of Assisi, Arrezo, Perugia and Florence. There are a number of fascinating medieval and renaissance towns of great historic interest close by including Sansepolcro (birthplace of Piero della Francsca); Citta di Castello; Citerna and the magnificent hilltop town of Anghiari. Just outside the house are walking trails through magnificent, romantic landscape, long distance views of farmland, forest, Lippiano Castle and hilltowns,fields of fragrant wildflowers, sunflowers.

The house is rural and has no through road traffic , as it is set up in an elevated position, yet in 5 minutes by car is Monterchi hilltown, with excellent restaurants and markets. The area is famous for truffles, and handmade pasta, and villages throw parties open to all to celebrate local dishes. In the summer, Monterchi hosts a free music festival, , Citta di Castello has a world famous classical music festival , Anghiari hosts open air art, theatre and music concerts. Our local chefs offer cooking classes at their home or yours!
Our house offers alot of accommodation plus privacy, as the adjoining annex is a separate building. The location provides a perfect base for exploring both Umbria and Tuscanywith their landscape of outstanding natural beauty and culture of the Renaissance.
