Changeover day
Our bookings are per night, with a minimum of two nights, depending on the property. Arrival time is after 16.00 and departure prior to 10.00.

Casa Nuova (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2)

The house is on two floors and has a very large, private terrace. It has been restored with imagination, using huge old terracotta roof tiles for the floor of the main room which also has a sunken fireplace and large windows from which to enjoy the stunning view. Also on the ground floor is a big kitchen and a shower room with WC. Upstairs is the charming bedroom furnished with antiques and its ensuite bathroom with bathtub and dressing area. Same stunning view as the lower floor. Fiore's sculpture is all over the house and terrace giving tremendous character and atmosphere. We have additional bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, lovely views, their own entrances. The living/eating space and terrace of Casa Nuova can easily accommodate six people Perfect for a romantic holiday for 2, but equally suitable for a group of friends using the additonal bedrooms. Pipistrelli Garden Apartment (1 Bedrm, Sleeps 2/4)

Sleeps 2 to 4. This lovely garden apartment takes up the ground floor of one of Peralta's stone houses. The charming living room, with its beamed ceilings and tiled floors, has a big fireplace and view over the valley. It opens to the garden, offering a secluded spot for eating or relaxing (lovely view of the hills). There is a double bedroom, which also has access to the garden: bathroom with shower. The kitchen is simple with a gas cooker, fridge and sink and all necessary utensils. There is the possibility of adding a second double or twin bedroom with its own entrance, making an ideal accommodation for four people. This second bedroom is on the floor above the main apartment and has its own ensuite bathroom (shower). There is an extra charge for this bedroom.

Studiolo (3 Bedrooms, Sleeps 5)

Sleeps 2 to 5. This charming apartment, full of character with its beamed ceilings and tiled floors, takes up the top floor of one of the houses in the centre of the hamlet of Peralta. It is completely private and has its own front door with steps leading down to a small terrace. It is ideal for a couple or a family, having a double bedroom which leads to a single bedroom and through to the bathroom (shower). There is a ladder from the double bedroom going to a room with two single beds. The spacious sitting room has a dining table at one end, comfy sofa and chairs and a superb view. The kitchen has a gas stove, fridge sink and dishwasher. The rooms lead one to another, giving a great feeling of space.

Gemelli (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2)

Sleeps 2. You enter this cosy little apartment from its terrace. The comfortable living room has a fantastic view over the valley, as does the double bedroom (which has an ensuite bathroom with shower). Both rooms open up onto the terrace, which is sheltered by olive groves. The little kitchen has a gas hob and oven, fridge, sink and is well equipped with cooking utensils. The whole atmosphere is quite delightful. As well as being ideal in the summer months, the apartment also makes a wonderful winter retreat, with a cosy wood-burning stove.

Notes on accommodation
Peralta is unsuitable for children between the ages of 4 and 10. We tell all our guests that Peralta is a peaceful, tranquil location and children are not always compatible with this description! Babies and older children are welcome.

Outside
Shared swimming pool is 8m x 3m. The pool is on a terrace above the hamlet of Peralta and has fantastic views over the valley towards the sea. Sunsets are incredible! All apartments have a barbecue and terrace or area to eat outside. The whole hamlet is situated in terraces of olive groves with comfortable seating on different terraces, including the private patios for each accommodation.

Coast/Beach
The closest beach is Viareggio (15 km) about 25 minutes away. Forte dei Marmi is a popular beach resort and takes some 35 minutes.

Golf
Nearest golf course is Forte dei Marmi, a 40 minute drive from Peralta.

Travel
Airports: Pisa is 35 km and takes 45 mins. Genoa is approx. 1hr45mins. Bologna 2 hours.
Train Station is Viareggio, on the main line from Genoa to Rome.
Ferry leaves from Livorno (2 hours from Peralta) for Corsica
MOTORWAY is just 20 minutes from Peralta. The A12 Genoa/Livorno and A11 Genoa/Florence. Our exit for both is Viareggio.
Car hire is recommended - preferably a smallish car as access up our hill is very narrow. Please visit our website for description of access.

Distances
Sightseeing: Due to the proximity of the motorways, sightseeing and daytrips are easy. Florence can be reached in an hour, Siena and southern Tuscany take about 2 hours. Cinque Terra is just under an hour and Carrara and the marble quarries a bit less. Lucca is just 22km away (some 35 minutes); The old town of Pisa is well worth visiting and of course the leaning tower and duomo.
There are wonderful drives through the Carrara mountains.

Further details
Peralta seems like paradise. It is wonderful to spend lazy days by the pool or on the terraces, simply enjoying our fabulous views, reading a book, relaxing. We are situated in the foothills of the Alpi Apuane and the walks through these hills, covered with chestnut trees and olive groves, are numerous. The wild flowers in Spring are a true delight. A favourite walk takes just under an hour and follows the contours on the hills to a neighbouring village where one can have a delicious lunch, or simply a drink.
There are many excellent, inexpensive restaurants nearby. One can walk down the hill to a pizzeria where Marco talks English and makes excellent pizzas. If he is not too busy, he will give our guests a lift back up the hill!
Sightseeing is easy from Peralta as we are only about 20 minutes from the motorway, making Florence only an hour away. The lovely walled town of Lucca is a forty minute drive. Northern Tuscany (Versilia) is full of interesting places to visit and we have details at Peralta and can help you plan your trips. The shopping around us is legendary (Lucca, Forte dei Marmi, Florence).
We are lucky to be only 45 minutes from Pisa airport. Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomsonfly and major airlines fly there. Peralta is very accessible and yet feels completely 'away from it all'.
We are ideally situated for the Puccini Opera Festival which takes place at Torre del Lago in July and August. It takes about 35 minutes to drive there.
Peralta, with its various houses (seven self catering units in total) has 17 bedrooms and can sleep up to 32 people. This makes it a wonderful location for a group of people to unite for whatever reason (birthday, wedding, family/friend reunion, business retreat, etc) as everyone can be together but, because of the manner in which Peralta is designed, they can also have their privacy. We can organise meals, transport (minibus or taxis), and generally take the stress out of organising a large gathering of people.
