Situated on the only hill (Colderba means hill of grass), looking at the imposing basilica of San Francesco, Assisi. Surrounded by 9 hectares of sunflowers, wheat and olive trees, these 3 small medieval villas and the main house area are a private and secluded get away. Dating from the years 1100 AD our houses were built as watch towers to patrol the plain looking across the valley to Perugia. The three villas are all independent having a private eating and relaxation area, each villa has a large lawn garden alongside. The 'park' area of the villas is fenced off from the countryside providing 2 hectares of exclusive park with marvellous views from every angle.
Assisi is only 2 kms away with it's quiet rythm and it's peaceful streets winding up the hillside - at night you can forget you are in the 21st century.

Notes on accommodation
All houses have independent heating systems and have flywires on the windows.
No animals allowed.
Outside
Large park area, with each house having it's own private area with table and chairs. There is outside lighting until midnight.
Golf
The Antognolla Golf course has finally reopened. 18 holes set amongst the hills just a half hour from our house (40 kms). This golf course (par 71) is set just below the wonderful Castle which overlooks the valley which runs from Pierantonio to Lake Trasimeno.
There is also the golf club perugia sodi di santa sabina (www.golfclubperugia.it) , just 32 kms from our house. This is a more challenging course (18 hole ) but less picturesque, but definately enjoyable.
Travel
The closest city Perugia has a small airport.
Alitalia offers a London-Perugia service.
Rome (2 hours by car) is served by most major airlines. Florence airport -not much closer than Rome, flights tend to be more expensive/less frequent.
Ancona (1.5 hours by car) is served by Ryanair. Cheap flights available. Ancona is small/bustle-free/well connected to Assisi. Ryanair flies to Pescara - not much further away, flight times often more convenient than to Ancona.

Perugia, Spell, Deruta and Bettona all inside 20 kms. Gubbio - 49 kms
Spoleto - 45 kms.
Further details
Santa Maria degli Angeli, the railway station town of Assisi, has a large supermarket facility. Hotel Green 1.5kms has a large swimming pool open to the public.

30% advance payment to confirm reservation (this deposit is non-refundable). Payment is due at arrival.
Cautional refundable deposit of 150 euro asked on arrival. Check-in time at your apartment is between 2pm and 7.30pm. An extra charge of 30 euros is due for late check in. Check out is by 10am on the day of departure unless a later time is agreed on in advance.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
I love the Assisi house because of it s peace, it s marvellous view and the garden. I make continual projects for the garden, changing the layout yet trying not to alter the austere character of a house in the country. At present i am creating a rose garden behind our house (so it doesn't interfere with the 'look' of the medieval houses), I buy the roses, study, move and work at them. It gives me great peace.
I love the view which is the best view of Assisi, according to all the locals that come to our house.
Unique benefits of the property
The benefits of the house is the liberty, you have a private kitchen, private garden and can come and go when you like. This means that you can buy food at the markets and experiment rather than going to restaurants everyday.
