This lovely old stone Tuscan house, part of the beautiful hamlet of Peralta, is the ideal place for a get away from it all holiday - for people seeking peace, tranquillity and beauty. The house and its large terrace are surrounded by olive groves with a background of high hills, covered with chestnut trees. The view, shared by all the rooms and the terrace in front of the house, is panoramic and stunning. It looks over the roof tops of Peralta and the valley below towards the hills, and the sea that lies beyond them. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool lies on a terrace above the house, and is shared with the other guests of the hamlet. The hamlet of Peralta itself has medieval origins and was restored by a sculptor giving it unique atmosphere and character.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in euros. Heating is extra in winter months (reading meter - oil filled electric radiators)
We do not let the house for the months of December, January and February.
Changeover day
Until the end of April, we have flexible changeover dates. In summer months, bookings run Saturday to Saturday.
Arrival after 4pm. Departure prior to 10am.

2 bedrooms have double beds with ensuite bathrooms.
2 bedrooms have twin beds which can also be made up as doubles. These 2 bedrooms share a bathroom.
Possibility of adding an extra single bed to one of the twin bedrooms. |

2 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with shower, washbasin, WC. There is a third bathroom also with shower, washbasin, WC. On the ground floor there is WC with basin. |

4 burner gas hob. Gas oven. Large fridge/freezer. Dishwasher. Microwave. There is a table which can seat 8, a fireplace and the kitchen leads directly to the outside dining area under a vine. |

Groundfloor has room with WC, washbasin, washing machine, iron and ironing board. |
| Living Rooms: |
The main living room has comfortable sofas and chairs.
There is another room on the ground floor which can be used as an extra living room (reading in peace etc). |
Cleaning/towels/

Beds are made up when you arrive. Clean sheets and towels are supplied once a week. We do not provide swimming towels. We have a local cook who will prepare food which you can eat in the house. This has proved popular with guests; her food is delicious! |
Notes on accommodation
Children 10 years and over & babies are welcome. The age limit is because guests come to Peralta expecting a peaceful, tranquil holiday, and this is not always compatible with younger children who naturally want to run, play and generally make quite a lot of noise (particularly around the pool!).

Outside
Shared pool measures 8m x 3m.
Casa Luigi is situated amongst olive groves on the hillside above the hamlet of Peralta. It has a lovely terrace in front of the house with chairs to relax, table seating nine, barbecue. Fabulous view.
Coast/Beach
15 km from closest beach (Viareggio). Forte dei Marmi is slightly further.
Golf
Forte dei Marmi on the coast is our nearest golf course and is 40 minutes away.
Special interest holidays
We host painting courses in May. Please see our website for details (link at the bottom of this page). We also have a local English speaking artist who gives private or group lessons (watercolour). We have a studio for use for a sculptor or painter. Please ask for details.
Travel
Airports: Pisa is 35km (45mins). Florence (1 hour). Genoa (1hr40mins). Bologna (2hrs).
Train: Viareggio is on the main line from Genoa to Rome and is just 20 minutes from Peralta.
Distances
The A12 (Genoa/Livorno) and A11 (Lucca/Florence) motorways are only 20 minutes away, making Florence a one hour drive, and Siena and southern Tuscany an easy day's outing. Lucca is 22km (35mins), the beaches are 20-30 mins away. Cinque Terre takes just under an hour, and Carrara and the marble quarries a bit less. The market town of Camaiore is only 10 minutes down the hill by car and the closest shops even less. There are many inexpensive, excellent restaurants close to Peralta.

The beautiful, peaceful hamlet of Peralta with medieval origins was restored over a period of thirty years with great love and imagination by international sculptor Fiore de Henriquez. She created a place that is quite unique. Peralta’s commanding hillside position gives it stunning panoramic views over the valley to the sea beyond. Surrounded by terraces of olive groves, and with orange and lemon trees, bougainvilliers, jasmin and others covering the stone walls, Peralta seems like paradise. It is wonderful to spend lazy days by the pool or on the terrace, simply enjoying our fabulous views. Fiore’s sculpture (which can be seen all through the hamlet), and the manner in which she designed and restored Peralta, give it very special character and atmosphere. We are situated in the foothills of the Alpi Apuane and the walks through these hills, covered with chestnut trees and olive groves, are numerous. The wild flowers in Spring are a true delight. A favourite walk takes just under an hour and follows the contours on the hills to a neighbouring village where one can have a delicious lunch, or simply a drink.
There are many excellent, inexpensive restaurants nearby. One can walk down the hill to a pizzeria where Marco talks English and makes excellent pizzas. If he is not too busy, he will give our guests a lift back up the hill!
Sightseeing is easy from Peralta as we are only about 20 minutes from the motorway, making Florence only an hour away. The lovely walled town of Lucca is a forty minute drive. Northern Tuscany (Versilia) is full of interesting places to visit and we have details at Peralta and can help you plan your trips. The shopping around us is legendary (Lucca, Forte dei Marmi, Florence).
We are lucky to be only 45 minutes from Pisa airport. Ryanair, Easyjet, Thomsonfly and all the major airlines fly there. Peralta is very accessible and yet feels completely 'away from it all'.
