Notes on prices
Required minimum stay: 2 nights (min.1 week sat/sat in July/Aug). Pets not allowed. Prices include: taxes, bedlinen, blankets, bath towels, kitchenware, sat TV, firewood, cleaning (weekly), electricity, gas, water, heating. Options: washing machine available in Casa Ciesa al numero and al numero 4; cot: pls. ask availability. Extras: laundry service, single or couch bed for 2, dinner on request (little tip for porterage! Thanks). Laudrette available in Bagni di Lucca.

Changeover day
Sat. is our preferred changeover day, but we stay at your disposal, whatever your wishes are. 2 nights are required minimum stay (min.1 week in July/Aug).

Casa Ciesa al numero 3 (3 Bedroom, Sleeps 6)

Beautifully restored farmhouse on the edge of Guzzano, a lovely hamlet of the Lucca area, at 5km from the spa town Bagni di Lucca. Casa Ciesa al numero 3 is the largest of our holiday houses. It comprises three levels plus a basement, is about 140sqm and can accommodate up to 6. On the ground floor, a living room with a fireplace and sat TV, a bright kitchen and a balcony provided with garden furniture, which offers stunning views over the wonderful surrounding nature. On the 1st floor there are 2 nicely furnished bedrooms each with original double beds. On the top floor we have a garret which comprises a ‘fairy’ bedroom with double bed and bath with shower. In the basement another bath with shower and washing machine and our "cigar room", i.e. a pretty cellar with table for 8 people. Outside, a large garden completely fenced (1000 sq.m.), an exclusive backyard, equipped with garden furniture, barbecue and a wood-burning oven for pizzas, bread, roast chicken etc.

Casa Ciesa al numero 4 (3 Bedroom, Sleeps 6)

Carefully restored farmhouse on the edge of Guzzano, a Lovely hamlet of the Lucca area, at 5km from the spa-town Bagni di Lucca. Casa Ciesa al numero 4 comprises 3 levels, is about 105sqm and can accommodate up to 6. On the ground floor, a bright living room with fireplace, a separate WC+washing machine under the stairs and a lovely kitchen with spectacular views on the surrounding hills and mountains. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms with original beds. On the last floor we have a garret with original low doors (160cm. high), which comprises two perfectly inhabitable rooms, i.e. a ‘fairy’ bedroom with twin beds and a bath with shower. Outside, just in front of the house entrance, there is an exclusive garden (700sqm) equipped with garden furniture and barbecue, which offers stunning views over the adjacent valley.

Casa Ciesa (6 Bedroom, Sleeps 12)

At disposal of larger groups and families: Casa Ciesa, which comprises: Casa Ciesa al numero 3 (6 people, 140 sq.m.) and Casa Ciesa al numero 4 (6 people, 105 sq.m.). On the whole we have 2 living rooms with fireplace, 2 kitchens, 6 bedrooms, 3 1/2 shower rooms. Max occupancy 12 people. Outside, a large garden completely fenced (1000sqm), which is a wonderful place for your kids to play, backyard, equipped with garden furniture, barbecue, and a wood-burning oven below a loggia for pizzas and bread.

Il Castello (2 Bedroom, Sleeps 3)

We called it Il Castello (the Castle), because of its peculiar narrow structure which reminds of a tower house. It is said that it was an ail of the adjacent building, which was, according to the recollections of my grannie, a nunnery. Nowadays, it is a little nice cottage, which comprises three levels, is about 40 sq.m., can accommodate up to 3 people and be combined with our other holiday house (Casa Ciesa) for groups or families up to 18 people. All levels are communicating, that is with no doors (except the bathroom with shower which is a room itself and has a door!) and linked by a steep wooden stair. On the ground floor, a living room with fireplace, kitchenette and sat TV. On the first floor a bath with shower and a room with a single bed. On the second floor a lovely bedroom with double bed. Outside a little exclusive yard for your sunny afternoons equipped with garden furniture and just in front of the house entrance a spacious garden (1000sqm).

Notes on accommodation
Casa Ciesa & Co. is located in a nice secluded place on the edge a hamlet of nowadays 100 hinabitants. A narrow road drivable with small cars crosses it. Cars can be parked within our property or in case of medium-large ones on the village main square at about 150m asphalted distance from our house, to be covered on foot.

Outside
Casa Ciesa al numero 3 provides exclusive backyard with garden furniture and a spacious garden (1000 sq.m.). Casa Ciesa al numero 4 provides exclusive garden (700sqm) with garden furniture at a walk distance (10m) from the house. Il Castello provides a little exclusive yard with garden furniture and an exclusive garden by the entrance (1000sqm).

Coast/Beach
Versilia beaches (Viareggio) are 40km away from Casa Ciesa, about 40 min. drive.

Golf
Garfagnana Golf Club - Pieve Fosciana (Lucca) at 35kms.
Vicopelago Golf club - Vicopelago (Lucca) at 30 kms.

Skiing
Abetone ski resort is at 45 mins distance from Casa Ciesa.

Special interest holidays
Our hamlet offers neither groceries nor bars, but some can be found in the villages nearby (2km, easy to reach on foot) or in Bagni di Lucca (5km). You can purchase at our house a very good quality local honey or buy fresh vegetables and fruits from a 'verduriere' (a guy with a picturesque van full of everything!) coming up to Casa Ciesa every friday morning. Market day is wednesdays and saturdays morning in Bagni di Lucca. On request we can arrange your dinner.

Travel
Pisa airport (60kms). Florence airport (80 kms). Nearest train station: Bagni di Lucca-Fornoli (8 kms.). Nearest bus station: 300 mt. from Casa Ciesa (5 minutes drive to Bagni di Lucca and then from Bagni there are good bus/train connections to Lucca).

Distances
Lucca (27km), Pisa (55km) and the close Tyrrhenian coast, (or Versilia about 40km) offer further cultural artistic and eno-gastronomical diversions.

Further details
Bagni di Lucca, about 5km away, is a nice tourist resort, where you will find general stores, shops, and sport centers (public swimming pool, tennis courts, etc.) and a beautiful spa known during the 18th and 19th centuries as a beloved holiday or residence destination of personalities and artists like Byron, Shelley, Puccini, Metternich and Radestsky. Traces of this glorious past areto be found in its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino, etc. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the surrounding hills, which are full of churches and Roman parishes: S. Pietro in Corsena, Pieve and San Cassiano di Controne, Montefegatesi, Casabasciana and Vicopancellorum. Nearby, Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena bridge, better known as the Devil’s bridge, Barga with its typical historical centre, Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration.

A deposit equal to 30% of the total rent, paid net of all bank/paypal charges, in Euro, by wire transfer or major credit cards (through paypal), is due to confirm your reservation. Balance: cash on arrival. A booking confirmation will be emailed to you after receipt of your deposit. Casa Ciesa is available for check-in only by appointment after 4pm. As we do not have a 24 hour desk, we ask that, whenever possible, all check-ins occur before 7pm. Check out time is 11am.

we really liked staying in the house and we thought the surroundings were beautiful. Abetone was a fantastic ski resort and there was an awful lot of snow which was perfect for skiing on.
