We are located in the meanders of Tuscany, perched on a hill among chestnuts and thorntrees at 5 km from Bagni di Lucca, a lovely spa-town of the Lucca area at 25 km from Lucca, 50 km from Pisa and 85 km from Florence. Our holiday houses enjoy a country location on the edge of a medieval hamlet and stunning views of the adjacent valleys. A plus of staying at our place is a friendly country atmosphere, stunning views and a farm neighbour from whom you can buy eggs and vegetables directly plucked from its garden. Enjoy your your stay while reading a book under a tree, sunbathing next to our pool or listening to the sounds of nature. This type of holiday is especially dedicated to both pleasant idlers and adventures lovers. The Bagni di Lucca area is the perfect starting point to explore the wonders of the Lucca area and Tuscany. Notes on prices
Prices are per week per property and include: taxes, bed linen, blankets, bath towels, kitchenware, sat-tv, log fire, cleaning (before your arrival and final cleaning), electricity, gas, water, washing machine, cot/highchair, use of our shared swimming pool. Extras: laundry service, heating, pets journey, internet, breakfast-basket. Heating costs: 15 Euro per property, per day. (to be paid on site). Pets journey: 40 Euro/week. Usb modem: 25 Euro /week.
Changeover day
Sat is our preferred changeover day. 3 nights are required minimum stay (min 1 week in July/Aug).

Notes on accommodation
Beautifully restored half of a countryhouse on the edge of Guzzano, a lovely hamlet of the Lucca area, at 5km from the spa town Bagni di Lucca. It comprises three levels, is about 105 m2 and can accommodate up to 6 persons. On the ground floor, a living room with a fireplace, a half bath and a bright kitchen, which offers stunning views over the wonderful surrounding nature. On the 1st floor there are two nicely furnished bedrooms each with original double beds. On the top floor we have a garret with original low doors (160 cm. high), which comprises two perfectly inhabitable rooms, i.e. a bedroom with twin beds and a bathroom with shower. In our holiday house you will find as well: books, tourist brochures.
Accessibility
Our holiday house is located on the edge of a tiny village of 100 inhabitants. A narrow road drivable with small cars crosses it. Cars can be parked within our property or in case of medium-large ones on the village main square at about 150 meters asphalted distance from our house, to be covered on foot.
Outside
At the house entrance there is a sunny farmyard with table and chairs and by crossing a dead-end alley you will find an exclusive garden (700 m2), which offers stunning views over the adjacent valley. Walking distance from a shared garden (1000 m2) with shared swimming pool (4x10 meters, 140 cm water level, no lifeguard).
Coast/Beach
Versilia beaches (Viareggio) are 40km away from us, about 40 min. drive.
Golf
Garfagnana Golf Club - Pieve Fosciana (Lucca) at 35kms.
Vicopelago Golf club - Vicopelago (Lucca) at 30 kms.
Skiing
Abetone ski resort is at 45 mins distance from Cesa.
Special interest holidays
Our hamlet is Guzzano near Bagni di Lucca. Closest grocery store in a village nearby (2km, easy to reach on foot) or in Bagni di Lucca (5km). At our farm neighbour you can purchase on request seasonal vegetables, eggs and cow milk. Market day is wednesdays and saturdays morning in Bagni di Lucca.
Travel
Pisa airport (50kms). Florence airport (85 kms). Nearest train station: Bagni di Lucca-Fornoli (8 kms.). Nearest bus station: 300 mt. from Cesa (5 minutes drive to Bagni di Lucca and then from Bagni there are good bus/train connections to Lucca).
Distances
Lucca (27km), Pisa (55km) and the close Tyrrhenian coast, (or Versilia about 40km) offer further cultural artistic and eno-gastronomical diversions.
Further details
Bagni di Lucca (at 5 km from our village), is a nice tourist resort, where you will find general stores, shops and sport centers (public swimming pool, tennis courts, chemist, supermarkets) and a beautiful spa, beloved destination of artists like Byron, Shelley, Puccini, Metternich and Radestsky. Traces of this glorious past are to be found in its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino. The Casino was the first gambling house to be opened in Europe. It was closed in the 19th century, but during the last years it has been perfectly restored. The town provides some very good restaurants, where you can taste our traditional cuisine based on simple ingredients like mushrooms, chestnuts, sausages, stakes etc. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the hills around our property, full of churches and Roman parishes: S.Pietro in Corsena, Pieve and San Cassiano di Controne, Montefegatesi, Casabasciana and Vicopancellorum. Nearby, Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena bridge, better known as the Devil’s bridge, the little canyon Orrido di Botri, the Garfagnana villages, Barga with its typical historical centre, Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration are just a few of the places worth a visit. Lucca (25 km), Pisa (50km) and the close Tyrrhenian coast, (or Versilia-Viareggio beaches, 40km) offer further opportunities for food, culture and activity! Closest airports: Pisa (PSA; 50 km) or Florence (FLR; 85 km). Clostest train station: Bagni di Lucca/Fornoli (10 km). Daily bus service from Guzzano (our village) to Lucca (about 30 min. drive).
Booking notes
A deposit equal to 30% of the total rent, paid net of all bank/paypal charges, in Euro, by wire transfer or major credit cards (through paypal), is due to confirm your reservation. Balance: cash on arrival. A booking confirmation will be emailed to you after receipt of your deposit. Our holiday house is available for check-in between 4pm and 7pm. Check out is within 11am.

we really liked staying in the house and we thought the surroundings were beautiful. Abetone was a fantastic ski resort and there was an awful lot of snow which was perfect for skiing on. We are family, sisters, friends. Quite a small group of nice people, always ready to make your journey as beautiful as possible.
In the picture you can see me Francesca, i.e. the promoter of this idea. I grew up in Florence, but as a I was a child, I spent lots of my summer days in Guzzano near Bagni di Lucca, Tuscany. I still have fond child memories of those marvellous days and this is one of the reasons why I decided to restore my forefather's houses.
