Changeover day
A normal week is Saturday to Saturday. Please contact us if you wish to discuss alternative days, we are happy to try to accommodate your requests. Guests should arrive after 4pm and vacate the property before 10am on the day of departure.

The Farmhouse (4 bedrooms, sleeps 8)

The Farmhouse can be rented alone (to sleep 8) or together with the Cantina (to sleep 10) Villetta (to sleep 14) and Casa Colonica (to sleep 20). The Farmhouse has been lovingly restored to its former glory, a rustic Umbrian farmhouse. The traditional features, archways, oak beams, original stonework, and charming character have all been preserved. There is a luxury kitchen, lounge with wood burning stove, a dining room with large table and chairs to seat 10. The bedrooms feature large single or king sized beds. There are 3 en-suite bathrooms with luxury walk in showers (one also has a bath) there is also an additional ground floor bathoom with a shower. A shady terrace has a pretty gazebo, gas BBQ and a large table with chairs overlooking the stunning Gubbio hillside. All linen, towels and pool towels, final cleaning and electricity are included in the rental price. Central heating throughout. (Weekly charge payable) There is a large pool, with large terraces and stunning views.

The Villetta (2 bedrooms, Sleeps 4)

The Villetta was part of the original 400 year old Umbrian farmhouse and boasts large dramatic rooms with lofty ceilings and oak beams. The Villetta has beautiful handmade chestnut windows and doors, terracotta window sills, paved floors and a charming character that has been well preserved. The Villetta also has a wood fired stove, a spacious living area with comfortable leather sofas, a handmade luxury kitchen with oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer and dishwasher and stunning, almost panoramic views of the area. The bedrooms have one king sized bed and 2 large singles and en-suite bathrooms with large showers. The private terrace over looks the hillside to the south and has a BBQ, table, chairs and an umbrella. All linen, towels and pool towels and electricity are included in the rental price. There is a large swimming pool, with stunning views, large terraces and a good range of pool furniture. Central heating throughout. (Small charge payable for use of heating and wood)

The Cantina (1 large bedroom, sleeps 2 plus baby )

The Cantina, part of the 400 year old Farmhouse, was the originally the old wine cellar. The Cantina features original hand-built stone walls, oak beams and traditional tiled floors. There is a beautiful original stone archway and large glass doors from both the bedroom and living area lead to a private covered loggia and terrace with fantastic views, a table and chairs and a BBQ. The property has a large open plan living room, with comfortable armchairs a CD player, dining table and chairs and fantastic views of the area. The beautiful bespoke kitchen is well equipped with oven, gas hob and a dishwasher. The bedroom is very spacious with a king sized bed and showcases the beautiful Umbrian stonework. There is a generous luxury en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and walk in shower. All linen, towels and pool towels and electricity are included in the rental price. Central heating throughout. (Weekly charge payable) There is a large pool, with stunning views and large terrace.

The Casa Colonica

The Casa Colonica, part of the original 400 year old farmhouse, is in a fantastic secluded location at the back of the farmhouse. There is an original hand built stone archway in the master bedroom, oak beams, teracotta floors and beautiful exposed stone walls. There is a seperate luxury handmade kitchen with a range cooker, large gas hob, microwave and dishwasher. The property features a large, dramatic living space with a floor to ceiling exposed stone wall, dining table,handmade chairs, 2 comfortable leather sofas and a TV and DVD player. All of the bedrooms are exceptionally large rooms. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and an en-suite bathroom with luxury shower, bidet, basin and WC. Bedrooms 2&3 both have 2 large single beds and double glass doors that open out to the side terrace. Bathroom 2 is a luxury suite with Italian mosaic tiles, bath, massage power shower, basin, bidet and WC. The private south facing terrace has wonderful views of the Apennines and a gas BBQ.

We are open nearlly all year round at Pian Di Cascina. We are in an ideal location for walking, cycling and sightseeing holidays as well and relaxing and enjoying the sun!
All of our properties are fully centrally heated. (There may be an additional charge for heating due to the high cost of fuel)

Outside
Pool and Terraces.
There is a large stunning swimming pool (8 x 16m), with pool furniture, set into the hillside, with some shade and excellent views of the surrounding area (The views are similar to an infinity pool). All accommodation has its own private terrace with shade, comfortable outdoor furniture and an easy to use gas barbeque.

Grounds.
There are 20 acres of farm, woodland and countryside to enjoy while staying with us. The unspoilt countryside is abundant with wildlife. Deer, wild boar, porcupines, hares, eagles, lizards and a wide variety of birds frequently roam the land.

Coast/Beach
Fanno beach is about 1 hours drive from the farm-perfect for families with young children as it is very wide beach with shallow water. The wonderful sandy beaches of Sirolo are only 1 hour 20 mins drive away. Lake Trasimeno (45 min drive) has a life guarded beach and some excellent seafood restaurants.

Special interest holidays
We are open nearly all year round at Pian Di Cascina. You can walk to the two local villages of Casa Castalda (45 mins) and Carbonesca (15 mins) surrounding the farm there are miles of stunning open countryside, perfect for walking, painting and cycling.
We offer advice, routes and maps for walkers and cyclists. (We also have 4 bikes available) We offer notes, advice and recommendations for sightseeing, wine tasting and local cuisine. Please contact us for further information.

Travel
The nearest airports for direct flights from London are Perugia which is 25 mins or Ancona airport, which is less than an hour’s drive. Ryan Air fly at least once a day into Ancona from London Stanstead and 3 times a week from Perugia.
You could also fly into Bologna Forli airport with Ryan Air, making the drive to the house is about 2.5 hours. Pisa airport is about 3 hours drive away and Easy Jet, amoung other airlines, flies to Pisa. Rome airport is a 2.5 hour drive from the house.

Distances
Umbria is the undiscovered heart of Italy. It is rich in art and history as well as landscape.
There is a great variety of sculpture, painting, architecture, and religious heritage to explore.
Gubbio: One of the most beautiful, well preserved medieval towns in Italy (20mins)
Perugia: The regional capital, home to Umbrian art (40mins)
Assissi: The most visited place in Italy, birthplace of St Francis. (30mins)
Spello: Pretty hill top town with great restaurant and it's own enoteca. (45mins)

Further details
Restaurants.
There are many restaurants in the area surrounding Pian Di Cascina and plenty of opportunities to sample the local cooking and produce.
There are three traditional Umbrian restaurants within 5-20 minutes of the house. The local restaurants serve typical Umbrian food such as: 'affettati' -plates of superb ham, salami and cheese, simple rustic pasta dishes with 'sugo' or truffles and roast meats and game.
The medieval town of Gubbio (20 mins drive away) has some of the best restaurants in Umbria and a lively nightlife. There is plenty of choice for all budgets and tastes. The speciality is rich truffle dishes made with local black and white truffles. Gubbio also has several bars and pubs, which are great fun and rather lively during the long summer evenings.
The nearby picturesque hill town of Spello has one of the top 18 cantina's (wine tasting cellars) in Italy. You can sample the best of Umbria's wine and produce in a lovely medieval courtyard setting. There is also a lovely restaurant here with a painted vaulted ceiling.

There are many other fantastic restaurants in the area. When you arrive, we provide a welcome pack with details and directions to the many of the restaurants we recommend. We also suggest places of interest to visit along the way. You could spend weeks enjoying sampling all the local food and wine!

Bars & Pubs.
The local towns of Carbonesca and Casa Castalda both have bars, where you can drink into the small hours with the locals.
You can walk to both of the bars in Carbonesca (15 mins walk), they are both typical Umbrian bars, with beer on tap and a lively banter.
The local village of Casa Castalda (5 mins drive or 45 mins walk) has three bars in the centre of the town and a pizza-pub on the outskirts of town. The largest of the local bars (in the centre of town) is the hub of local activity, serves a variety of beers and aperitifs and is busy day and night.

In order to secure a booking we require a 30% deposit and a completed booking form.
9 weeks before the start of your holiday we require full payment.
