The estate produces its own olive oil and wine and has a swimming pool surrounded by a garden with lawns and a sun terrace on which to relax. Each apartment has its own private terrace with furniture and use of a BBQ. Laundry facilities for guests are available. With only 3 apartments the estate never feels overcrowded Barberino has a small supermarket, shops selling local produce, several bars and 3 very good restaurants. Buses run to both Florence and Siena. Pisa airport is 1 hour 30 mins drive. San Gimignano and Volterra are a short drive away, as are all the towns of Chianti.

Prices are for the property per week in euros. Price reduction applicable for 2 person occupancy in Piani 3 and Piani 2 as shown above. Weekly bookings Saturday - Saturday in July/August - no short stay or mid week bookings available. Flexible during other periods - please ask! We do offer price reductions at certain times of the year, again please contact us for details.
Changeover day
Saturday, although this can be flexible in low season on request.

Notes on accommodation
Reduced rates apply for 2 person occupation in Piani 3 - see price list for details. Washing machine provided for guests use. Heating is available (separate charge) in the cooler months. Ceiling and freestanding fans are supplied. The apartments are suitable for children under adult supervision.

Not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
The apartments are surrounded by lawns. There is a shared swimming pool with sun loungers. There is a separate sun terrace with furniture and each apartment has its own BBQ area. Piani 3 has a private lawned area to the rear. There is a tennis court (not Wimbledon standard!) and table tennis.
Coast/Beach
The west coast is approx 2 - 2½ hours drive.
Travel
Pisa airport is approx 60km (1½ - 2 hours drive). Whilst not absolutely essential, a car is strongly recommended.

Barberino Val d'Elsa (800m) shops, bars and restaurants. Florence and Siena (30km). San Gimignano (15km) Medieval city of towers. Poggibonsi (8km) large supermarkets.
Further details
Barberino has a small supermarket, shops selling local produce, newsagents, hairdresser, several bars, 3 restaurants, a bank, pharmacy, post office and tourist information office. Tavarnelle Val di Pesa (2km) has a larger supermarket and several good restaurants.
Wine tasting is available on the estate and cookery courses are available in Tavarnelle.

About the owner
My name is Carol Oxley and I live in an Essex village with my husband Peter, son David and mother-in-law, Joyce. We have spent many annual holidays staying in various parts of Tuscany, but always return to Due Piani in Barberino, as Peter's cousin lives in the village with her husband and baby daughter. We have become friends with Brunella Mori and Alberto over the years, who own Due Piani, and were pleased to accept their invitation to act as the English connection for UK bookings.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Barberino Val D'Elsa is only an hour and half away from Pisa Airport, with easy road access. Although close to the village, the apartments are set on a working vineyard and olive farm, in a very tranquil setting, with wonderful views across the Tuscan countryside. With only three apartments, the estate is never crowded, and there is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. Alberto and Brunella are very warm and friendly and will go out of their way to ensure you have a good holiday.
Unique benefits of the property
Florence and Siena are easily reached and there is a regular bus service from the village. The apartments are within walking distance of Barberino, which has a wide range of restaurants, shops and other amenities, including a bank, and a very good tourist information shop. Barberino is perfectly situated for visiting the Chianti region of Tuscany and is only a 20 minute drive from San Gimignano - one of my favourite places, second only to Siena!
