Set amongst working farmland and surrounded by fields of sunflowers and grain, ‘I Girasoli’ lies at the foot of the medieval hilltop town of Cortona. ‘I Girasoli’ retains many of its original features and offers bright and comfortable accommodation for people of all ages, including the elderly and wheelchair users. Living/Dining room, fully equipped kitchen and double bedroom with ensuite shower room on the ground floor. On the first floor there are three further bedrooms, the master bedroom with ensuite shower room and two further bedrooms with shared shower room with the option in each of either two single beds or one double bed. The detached studio annex sleeps two and is suitable for the elderly or infirm, as well as for wheelchair users. Large shower room, kitchen and living room area and the option of either two single beds or one double bed. Mosquito nets to all bedroom windows. Offer tours and activities.

The small detached open plan studio annex is all on one level, making it ideal for the elderly or infirm - wheelchair friendly.
Outside
There are gardens, barbecue, table area with seating under a beautiful large chestnut pergola for eating al fresco. Private pool (12m x 6m) with diving board, sunbeds and parasols.
Coast/Beach
We are between 1˝ - 2 hours away from beaches at the coast. We are a 20 minute drive from beaches at Lake Trasimeno - the third largest lake in Italy.
Golf
Half hour drive to nearest golf course.
Skiing
We are a 1˝ hour drive from Mont Amiata - a Winter ski resort. We are also 2 - 3 hours from other very good ski resorts.

Travel
Perugia airport is 35 minutes away by car (68 kms). Florence airport is one hour by car. Pisa and Rome airports are 2 hours by car. The mainline railway station is only a 2 minute drive away. Car hire is recommended to fully appreciate the area and surroundings.
Distances
We are a 5 minute drive from the centre of the Medieval hilltop town of Cortona. We are a 2 minute drive from Camucia shopping centre where there is also a large co-op.
Further details
Cortona has a wealth of good restaurants and there are banks within a three minute drive of 'I Girasoli'. There are many shops in the area and we are conveniently placed to visit other large towns - including Arezzo, famous for its monthly antiques fair, only half an hour by car. Florence - one hour, Rome - 2 hours. Assisi, Perugia, Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto, Siena,.etc. Evening meals by appointment at extra cost if booked in advance - minimum 6/8 persons. Please enquire before arrival.
