Casa d’Oliva is a 100 year-old restored stone house that sits on nearly 2 acres of beautifully landscaped property and olive groves. The house, a combination of old world charm and modern amenities is appointed with typical Umbrian furnishings. Sitting high in the hills of the Italian heartland with breathtaking views, Casa d’Oliva is the perfect place for a romantic getaway for two or for an educational and fun-filled trip for the entire family. Located at the border of Umbria and Tuscany, the hill towns of Arezzo, Cortona and Assisi are all less than an hour’s drive away. The area is the heart of the ancient Etruscan civilization and offers many chances to see artifacts and ruins from that important culture. The art of Florence and the architecture of Rome are less than two hours from the house. All along the way are countless opportunities for sightseeing, photography, antique hunting and dining. Easy day trips are Anghiari, Arezzo, Assisi, Citta di Castello, Cortona and Gubbio.

Golf
Antognolla golf course is an 18 hole championship golf course, situated in the heart of Umbria, 20 minutes north of Perugia. The course will be open to local residents and their guests and will have a driving range, practice green, a small club house, a bar and changing facilities. There will be a range of golf clubs, trolleys and carts available to hire. Daily rate 18 holes: 50 euros. Daily rate, Day 60 euros. 3 Day Golf Pass: 150 euros. 7 Day Golf Pass: 320 euros.

About the owner
We are an American couple Cliffe Raymond and Betsy Fenik who love Italy and especially Umbria. In the United States we own a manufacturing company and make parts for boats. Cliffe is an avid cyclist and loves riding both in Italy and here in Rhode Island. I am a photographer and am very lucky to spend lots of time making pictures all over Italy and New England.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We vacationed in Umbria and fell in love with the people, the countryside, the food, the wine and the pace of life. We hope to retire there someday, but in the meantime we are happy to share our little piece of heaven on earth with those who want to slow down and really enjoy life. Our home is a bit remote, but that is exactly what makes it the perfect get-away. Its position up the mountain affords you spectacular views and plenty of peace while its nearness to town (15 minutes) enables you to enjoy dining out and other activities. If sightseeing is what you like Casa d’Oliva is situated near to all the “hill towns” of Umbria and Tuscany. Easy day trips include Cortona, Assisi, Gubbio, Pienza, Montefalco and Florence is a 1 hour 20 minute train ride away.

Eat breakfast under the ivy covered pergola or on the balcony. Spend the day sunning and swimming at the pool. Enjoy a catered dinner on the patio. Please stop and smell the roses. Feel free to pick them too. Enjoy all the flowers here and be sure to use the herbs in the pots on the patio for delicious, fresh pasta dishes. Make sure to be up at the pool each evening for a beautiful sunset. On a clear night lie out on the pump house roof and watch for shooting stars. Enjoy the sounds of the country; the cuckoo, crickets, song birds. At night you can hear the frogs and birds. Slow down, take your time, experience everything here. Italy runs on slow time. So should you when on holiday.
