POMONA is a traditional estate situated in the heart of the Chianti countryside, near the ancient city of Siena. The oldest buildings of the farm date back to the 1750s. The estate maintains its original structure and still comprises the residential villa, farmhouses, storehouses and the winery. This is what makes it fascinating even today – it conveys a real impression of a traditional Tuscan country estate, surrounded by gardens, olive groves and vineyards. In addition to producing wine and olive oil, the family now runs a small holiday business based in the old villa, following the principles of sustainability and eco-friendly solutions. The villa is surrounded on three sides by a large courtyard shaded by three century-old Lebanon cedars. Embedded in the orchards and gardens and surrounded by olive and fruit trees guest can enjoy a swimming pool offering spectacular views over the rolling hills. Two apartments with independent entrances are available for rent.

The price includes water, electricity, gas, bed linen and towels (except for the swimming pool) and taxes. We request a 30% deposit on booking. Last minute bookings can be paid in euros on arrival. Central heating and firewood will be charged based on consumption. These prices are valid for a stay of one week or more. For shorter stays, please contact us directly. Credit cards are welcome

'last minute' discount (booking within 10 days of arrival 15% discount)

La Villa

Of the two bedrooms in the apartment one is a large double, the other a twin. This apartment also has independent central heating

This is the part of the estate that formed the residential manor house. The main entrance of the apartment opens onto a large courtyard shaded by three ancient cedar trees. The apartment extends over two floors linked by a grand stone staircase. The lower floor consists of the huge old kitchen with its impressive beams and great fireplace. It now also furnished with a gas cooker and oven, fridge and other kitchen equipment, as well as armchairs and sofas. On the upper floor there are four bright and spacious bedrooms with the original furniture from the late 1800s. Of these, two are double rooms, one is a twin and the other is a family room consisting of a double and a single bed. A cot is available for babies and can be placed in any of the rooms. On the same floor there are two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath and shower.

Location Information: POMONA is located on the famous Chiantigiana road that winds through the hills between Florence and Siena (the SR 222), 9 km from Siena and 8 km from Castellina in Chianti. The farm’s position makes it ideal for exploring the famous centers of art and culture in Tuscany, as well as the quiet and charming Maremma coast. FROM FLORENCE (55 km): leave the A1 motorway at the Firenze-Certosa exit, take the Firenze-Siena Superstrada (highway), and exit at ‘San Donato’. Follow the directions for Castellina in Chianti. From Castellina in Chianti continue towards Siena (for 8 km on the SR 222 regional road). FROM ROME (270 km): take the northbound A1 motorway. Leave at the Valdichiana exit. Take the Siena-Bettolle road and, from Siena, the Superstrada highway towards Florence. Exit at Siena-Nord, and follow the SR222 towards Castellina in Chianti for approximately 9km.
