Owner profile
About the owner
Hi! My name is Lucia Mancini and I was born in Scotland and went to school in Bishopbriggs, Glasgow. As my parents were both Italian I decided to come and live here and I am happy I made the choice as I love the climate, style of life and culture. The apartment in Lucca was left to me by my parents and I take great pride in it. I live in Barga, a picturesque town 40 mins from Lucca, with my 18year-old daughter Erica and partner Roberto. I teach English in the local high school. My 2 brothers and sister and my 4 beautiful nieces live near Glasgow and we visit each other often. In my free time I enjoy cooking, hill-walking and a glass of wine with friends.
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
When my parents left me the apartment it needed a lot of work and so I decided to refurbish it completely. I maintained the Tuscan style- wooden beamed ceiling, terracotta tiles - and used warm pastel coulors for the walls. What you will appreciate most is its central position, so near to shops, restaurants etc and yet so peaceful! I love it and in particular I like walking on the walls which surround the historical centre. One day I will live there myself as there is so much to see and do! Art, music, fantastic food and and so central if you want to visit other parts of Tuscany by bus or train. It is 20 mins from Pisa, Viareggio, Forte dei Marmi, the coast with its beautiful sandy beaches. It's an hour from Florence and Barga by bus.
Unique benefits of the property
My property is just off Via Filungo which is the main street, full of restaurants, wine bars, shops etc. but don't be alarmed it isn't noisy in the least Once inside you will be surrounded by peace and tranquillity. The train station and bus station are 10 mins on foot and you can easily reach Pisa, Viareggio, Florence, Siena etc.
