You can book meals to be prepared by a cook, ideal for the night before departure or day after arrival, giving you time to relax and make the most of your holiday. Guests can walk to a choice of local restaurants (1 mile away) should they not wish to drive. The use of electricity, cooking gas and water are included in the price. 3 ground floor bedrooms are ideal for erderly couples and one shower room is also fitted with wall mounted chair.
Outside
The property is completely private with no shared facilities and the swimming pool is fenced, thus ideal for families. There is one extra large patio with a barbecue, seating and two long tables to accommodate 20 adults or more. There are many other patios, an extra large roof terrace, a veranda and garden spaces all with tables and chairs. The pool area has an outdoor solar shower, sun loungers, steamer chairs, umbrellas, tables, benches and a large shady pergola. The pool is surrounded by olive trees and offers breathtaking views over rolling countryside and of the mountains. The entire grounds and pool area have automatic lighting systems, so you can relax where ever you want to be. An evening swim under the stars with the mountain back drop is a memorable treat. A 3m trampoline and 3 swings for children, with many wide open spaces to play boules or other fun games. The property is nestled in the centre of 28 acres, surrounded by mature trees and olives.
Coast/Beach
We are just 20 mins from the fine sandy beaches of Porto San Giorgio and Pedaso. 35 mins San Benedetto known as The Palm's Riviera. From rocky coves to long stretches of sandy coastline, you will find excellent fish restuarants and interesting ports and towns to visit close by.
Golf
Just south of Ancona, a 45 min drive from us, is the 18 hole championship golf course of Conero golf club, with a 9 hole executive course. More details can be found on our website and click on the link in our activities page.
Skiing
From Dec. to Mar. winter sports, skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and sledging for children can be found in the nine ski resorts of the region. Further details
We are very close by two local villages of Capparuccia and Grottazzolina approx. 1 mile away. Here you will find everything you need from Chemist to supermarkets, bar, restaurants, pizzaries, bank, gymn etc. Beaches and coast 20 mins away. Mountains, lakes and walking routes 30-40 mins away. There are two national parks and 3 nature reserves to discover and explore throughout the year, you can enjoy from Mar. to Nov. walking & hiking routes, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, golf, quad biking, hand gliding amongst many other activities. Of course there are hundreds of hilltop villages to explore, lovely just to walk around and admire, taking a coffe or ice cream on the way round. Le Marche offers so much to see and do throughout the summer in an endless array of free local fates (Sagre) and festivals where you can taste and get to know the real Italy's
culture and history. Locals are very friendly and love children. You'll be very welcome where ever you go, especially with children and may even get in the restaurant 1st.

We found Il Melograno a very relaxing place to stay. All rooms had an en-suite bathroom which was a huge bonus and having young children we liked the fact that the pool was safely tucked away with access only via a gate. The kitchen was amazing a delight to cook in, as for the views, we spent many calming moments gazing at the mountains and we grew very fond of the farmer on his tractor going up and down the surrounding fields droning like a bee in the distance! Quite the rural retreat.
Yet, just 20 minutes away were the sandy beaches of the Adriatic coast for the children to enjoy, and for us the highlight of our stay was the trip to the mountain villages, just an hour away - and the swim in the fresh water Lake Fiastra. We also had a most enjoyable evening out for some adventurous grown up cuisine at the restaurant Il Picene in the hill-top village of Ortezzano, we would highly recommend it when the pizza and pasta gets too much! from Sue and Family.

We are Daniel, Candida, Elettra (6), Achille (5) and Atena Jennings(1). We moved from the UK to Italy in 2001, deciding it was a better place to start a family and change our way of life. Since then we haven't looked back. We offer guests a friendly and professional service, helping each group with local information, general holiday advice i.e: best places to eat out, food shopping, local places of interest, markets, sagra's (fates) and great local beaches. We live on site, away from the farmhouse, which is fenced for guests privacy. We deal with property up keep, grounds and pool maintenance, making sure the property is always kept at it's best and your stay is problem free. We also sell organic Jams and Olive oil from the farm. Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
We fell in love with the area and particularly the panoramic views from the hilltop location, with the back drop of the mountains. The villa is very close to local shops just 1.5km away, but at the same time we are away from the crowds. The position of the house offers guests complete privacy and benefits from all modern comforts you will need. The property has been restored to a high standard and maintains all original features, brick work, oak beams and terracotta tiles. Where possible we reclaimed original materials and reused them in the restoration process. At the same time the property has been restored to tight public building regulations and standards against earthquakes. The Adriatic coast is just 20 mins away, where as the mountains and national park are a 40 minute drive.
