La Cincarella is a privately owned home, delicately restored by us embellishing all that was, with the convenience of modern day requirements. All buildings went derelict for many years, but to us the hidden beauty was glimmering from beneath the withered wood beams broken windows,brick floors massive stone walls, all beckoning to come back to a useful life. We left behind our easy life styles of Rome and New York, determined to breath new life into these forgotten mansions, changed our clothes ,picked up our new tattered overalls, gloves and heavy work shoes and off we went! What a trip! All unexpected challenges came and went and we overcame! Now the time has come to share our experiences and accomplishments with our new friends and visitors. We do not offer manicured elegance, but we do offer our genuine love for what we were able to see hidden, brought forth with simplicity and perseverance, to now what was humble and necessary becomes mighty and beautiful.

The private restaurant is for our guests only, we will gladly accept your requests for any traditional meals including vegetarian etc. The chef and owner opens her private kitchen to guests, she will prepare fixed menu lunch and dinner upon request, for a moderate price of 20.00 euros per person, serving is a complete 6 courses including house wine, beer and soft drinks.

At this time there are no facilities for persons requiring special mobility needs.
Outside
The surrounding grounds have patios, lawns, barbecue and outdoor furniture, for the personal use of guests. There are community two swimming pool facilities: 1 indoor at Umbertide, the other at Pietralunga, which is a very enjoyable outdoor pool offering many activities for adults and children. The private grounds are suitable for trekking and mountain biking, bike hire available at Pietralunga.
Coast/Beach
All seaside beaches are located less than 2 hours drive east, to the Adriatic Coast,and the famous beaches of Fano and Senigallia. Going west, you will find the Lago Trasemeno with its enchanting village on the lake(Passingnano), chock full of seafood restaurants.

Exquisite golf course at Pierantonio, 35kms.

Monte Nerone 40kms.

We are located 60kms from the newly renovated Sant'Egidio international airport. Direct flights from LONDON & MILANO, With its assortment of international car hire companies. Heading north in the direction of Cesena on the E45 , exit at Montone/Pietralunga headed for Pietralunga at 12km road marker the first stop 300mts forward you will reach the main house La Cinciarella, after making a stop here you, will be directed to the self catering Villa Longobardi.

Within 10kms, you will find major supermarkets, weekly produce markets and general shopping and restaurants. For exciting daily trips under 100kms the enchanting towns of Gubbio, Perugia, Cortona, Citta di castello, Urbino, Lake Trasemeno, Cagli, Assisi, Tivoli, Castels, national parks, the river Tiber runs through Umbertide, features newly renovated historical sights along the river.

Special fun with James at the villa picking cherries that were supposed to be an American cherry pie, but we picked 5 and ate 4! There was a donkey, horse, ducks, rabbits chickens dogs and cats! We are a group of folks from Rome and New york, escaping the hustle and bustle of the big city. We stumbled upon these abandonded treasures and with lots of fantasy set, out to restore these places and now share them with you, Most of the work was done by ourselves over a period of 15 years.

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
The peaceful tranquility and closeness to the remains of civilisations gone by left star struck ,here one finds the remains of a roman villa, the defensive tower left by the longobards , the eventual dismantling of same and the subsequent construction of a farm house using the remaing foundation and 2nd level , then in the 16th century the church of san biagio was attached to the main complex, further down the road,la cinciarella (blue tit) (a local acrobatic bird ,) the main house and B&B facility is the typical Umbrian rural stone farm house, where you will find master cooks Silvia and Federico ,3 beautiful kids and their extended family of farm animals. With their warm greetings you will think that that they are some long lost relatives!
